The food was really good. Caslaw and my broiled plate were delicious. And they have a delicious ranch. I recommend trying fried green tomatoes. Service was good. The restaurant looks clean. Prices are not too high.

Food was mediocre considering the very high prices for their oysters. Make sure you ask what " market price" is. Never thought I'd pat 25 bucks per dozen for raw oysters! The shrimp platter wasn't worth the price. The waitress was very nice but overwhelmed. My tap beer sat on the bar for several minutes before the waitress bought it to me. Numerous other waiters looked at the ticket and just left it. Obviously the staff in no way help each other out which is a shame. I pointed that out to the waitress and she agreed. Just a little fine tuning and with the limited staff would have been a much greater experience. Prices are way too high though.

I didn’t know this is a chain. I was expecting fresh oyster but they are fried. I should read carefully.

Food is a little salty. They are too salty. Fried fish is good thou. But salty makes food taste good. I am not that happy. Beside that, I ordered shared seafood jr dish and that’s enough for my friend and I. We also gave some to other in at the table. The portion is generous is what I am trying to say.

Ambiance is a mix of casual dine in and bar scene. I will say a tone down apple bee.

Service is very very good. We tip well. The lady work really well and keep us hydrated at all time.

Wintzell’s Oyster House is a lively and delicious spot. It was also the only restaurant in the Ally area that crowded, so I went where the people were. I wasn’t too hungry so I got the red beans, rice, chicken, and sausage. It was very good, the meat and rice were moist, the food was flavorful, and the price was reasonable. Our server Tristan was a joy! The staff we encountered was all very helpful and nice. I will definitely come back to try oysters and shrimp!

I have been to Wintzell’s many time over the years. Throughout that time I’ve had many very good meals. Unfortunately for this night I had the fried catfish and immediately with the first taste I knew I was not going to enjoy the meal. The fish had a very strong, dirty taste. I understand this is not the fault of the restaurant it happens, but I will say it was disappointing. On the other hand, our server could not be more kind and attentive and took care of us the entire time we were there I will not hold this against Wintzell’s. I do recommend if you get seafood that is marked market price you may want to ask as we got the crab claws appetizer and it turned out to be $29. I will come here again on my next visit.

Asked by management the name of our server it was Jordan. She did an excellent job.

We dined here last week, and our server Tristen was AMAZING! The bartender Jay makes the BEST Lemon Drop Martinis, according to my sister. My fried green tomatoes weren't fried long enough, and I had to send those back, but the oysters, pasta, salad, bacon wrap shrimps, and crab claws were good. We also dined here tonight and everything was good. Didn't get seated with Tristen and Jay wasn't there tonight. Maybe next time we'llget them both again! I suggest asking for them if i were you.????

Our first time here and really really enjoyed it. There were not that many people but a good little lunch crowd. When we walked in, their health score was posted next to the hostess stand and was a 74. We were seated instantly, and served out drinks in five minutes. We ordered two shrimp baskets, one with coleslaw the other with French fries. The fried shrimp was absolutely delicious! They were very nice size and crispy. The cocktail sauce went with it very well by adding a slight spice. We also got the baked oysters topped with bacon, cheese and jalapeños. As it was out very first time trying baked oysters, they were really good. Our food came out to us in about 20 minutes. We enjoyed everything on our plate & will be back!

I really wanted to like this place, but it was average and over priced at best.

Or server was great (Antonio) but over worked (not enough servers). The host team, not super friendly. Tables outside were dirty, there was a broken glass next to one table that didn't get swept up for most of the time we were there.

Food; average seafood. I had that Fried sampler plate. Meh, it was ok.. Should have tried the grilled sampler. Ordered the fried one since it came with a crab cake..turned out that it wasn't very good.

There is a happy hour with cheap we'll drinks/drafts that are decently priced.
