If you never heard of nor tried El Comal here in McCalla do yourself a favor and stop what you're doing and eat here!!
This food is FIRE GOOD!!!
Salsa has depth of flavor, nice heat, more than the average Mexican restaurant.
Street tacos were amazing u003e lots of white onions and cilantro both of which I love and agree, the more the merrier in these doubled up soft shell corn tortillas. Yummy!!
Added a side of beans, bc what's Mexican food without beans?u003e all was amazingly flavored. My favorite was the authentic Mexican music, not the typical music one might expect to hear here, but much more romantic and beautiful, a great place to eat, especially after I've just driven 10hrs. today from Virginia back to Alabama. The Mayan calendar behind the register is sure to see me again!!

This is one of the best in our small town. If you are looking for a place that is chill & has a great atmosphere plus amazing staff who was on top of their game getting it done! This is the place for you! Shrimp fatias are my fav tho! ????

Ordered 2 steak fajitas and a small queso togo, total came to $40. Food was great taste wise but quantity was honestly just something they should be ashamed of. It was to the point we picked the steak out of both fajitas and it weighed less than 4oz. Been going here for years and loved it but past 2-3 times it's just getting worse and worse, get more bang for your buck and try another place ????.

Salsa wasn't as flavored as if hoped it would be, but not bad, just not bold and distinguished flavors.

Tamale was a pleasant surprise, and the nachos supreme were great!
The highlight and surprise was the grilled veggies inside the quesadilla, best taste of the day!
Service was great and quaint, bathroom needs some attention, some bland flavors in some of the dishes and salsa brought the overall grade down, but it's still good, just not a 4-5 star Mexican restaurant if you travel a lot of places.

Been going here for a looong time and while the food taste remains great the quantity of the meat (for takeout) in my fajitas keeps getting less and less. If I wanted a vegetarian fajita... I'd have ordered one. Didn't used to be this way at ALL and while I understand COVID changed things for a lot of businesses I'm paying more but still getting waaay less. That is NOT right!

Ordered dinner for my wife and I today. We have eaten here several times and normally the food is really good. Today I ordered a burrito grande and was very disappointed when we got the food back to our RV. The burrito is supposed to be covered in cheese and it barely had any cheese on top. Maybe they ran out cheese ? because my wife's chicken fajitas nachos were pretty dry as well. I would probably still eat here again because we do like the food however next time I will check the food before I pay and if it's not right or they refuse to make it the same way as if I were dining in the restaurant then I can go someplace else. I would rather the restaurant raise the price of the food and make it right everytime instead of skimping on things ! Feeling ripped off today for what I paid !!!

Amazing food. Always tasty always fresh. The price is reasonable. I like the environment and the vibes. The place is always crowded but the service is very fast. You won't wait for so long. Parking is free. Menu is huuuuge. At least 40 items. Food is amazing. Staff is super fast and friendly.
