Embiance was very nice. Was very clean and smelled like it. Service was good but there were only 3 other people there. The food has alot to be desired. Ketchup was spicier than yhe salsa. Chips were stale and some were in the cold fried too long. My kids had yhe traditional hotdog ( tested like ballpark frank for $8) shredded chicken simple flavored with some type of green pepper. Red chili burrito had 0 taste, same with the rice and beans. Nothing had ANY flavor. Try Gordo's Taco truck. Best Mexican I've had in Arizona yet!!

A little to much salt in the soup, the rice is a little weak, on the taste buds! Otherwise, a very good decorated tables and chair's too! The ceiling has a fair amount of decorations too!

We had heard good things about Elvira's, but until today had not stopped in. They were wrong; it's not good, it's great!

The decor is fantastic. Lots and lots of hand painted seat backs, tables and wall art.

I made the mistake of ordering Elvira's favorite. I realized my mistake when my meal was served on two plates. I immediately requested a to-go box, and went through the hard choice of what to eat at the restaurant. Included was a taco, and enchilada, a tostada, chili, beans, and rice.

I started on the chili. With a fork. Big chunks of savory meat in an excellent sauce. Then the taco, which had melted cheese on the outside of the shell. Like eating nachos and tacos at the same time. Excellent flavor on the meat, too.

The beans and rice were better than I normally get.

My wife ordered the mini-chimis. I tired a taste of one of them. It came with 6; 5 came home with us, since she was sampling my platters.

Our waitress was more than helpful in navigating the menu, and keeping our beverages topped off, which I appreciated, since the hot sauce was indeed ho. And tasty.

Kudos to the owners and staff. We'll be back for sure!

First time eating here, the decor is astounding. Very friendly and courteous staff. The food was amazing and magnificent. The food is also filling. You have to dine here and experience the environment yourself.

Outstanding service even though she was run off her feet. Food was delicious - ordered additional to take home for that night. Haven't had Mexican this good since 2010.

It's sad to see how far this place has fallen in 12 years. It almost as if all the flavor has been taken out of everything. The red chili burrito somehow has less spice in it than the salsa. Even with the sauce, the tamale kind of had a dirty dishwater taste to it. I really hate to speak I'll of this place but the quality is not indicative of the prices, which are astoundingly high for what you're getting. Also I don't know what the deal with the hostess was, but she seemed like she was on another planet and seemed disgruntled whenever we asked for something. I don't know what happened to the tables and light fixtures in there but it looks like there was a bar fight or something in there and nothing got replaced.

My wife and I often have our day date since this is the day we have off together. We often stop for lunch before moving along with our day. We randomly stopped here to have something to eat. Right away the atmosphere and energy of this restaurant really stand out to you. Visually very pleasing. Very clean and enviting. The service here is very good with friendly staff. The food is beyond good here!! This will certainly be a new regular stop for us. The carne asada tacos here are highly recommended. This will be an automatic favorite if you give them a try. You won't be disappointed. ????
