Good food, decent size portions. I had the buffalo Mac and cheese. Could have been a bit creamier. Service was good spite it being busy and only a couple girls on duty. Overall not bad. I'll have to try the breakfast next time.

Great, fast service.
This is a hole in the wall, but it does cater to our wounded vets which I commend then for. Food is edible but not spectacular. Had a fun little "Pot of Gold" drink for St. Patty's day. Definitely seems like a local fave, but I would move on if you're visiting. Go to the restaurant next door.

If you want the best, ask a local! Chicken fried steak and Dirtwater burger were excellent. Home sliced fries to boot.

This review is for a dining experience from mid-July. I must have seen this place after one of my hikes out east and we finally stopped in for dinner one Saturday, early evening. Its decor as I expected a diner in Apache Junction to have. A lot of wood, taxidermy animals, and other old nick-knacks.

The parking lot is pretty large but definitely needs re-paved and the lines re-painted. They were almost invisible. Luckily we got there relatively early for dinner and there were not many cars for us to worry about.

The food was good but to be honest the four-star rating was due in large part to our server, Tresa. She was wonderful: attentive, funny, and witty. I am in no way saying the food was bad (the pineapple coleslaw was something new for me, and it had a nice flavor). The zucchini appetizer came out piping hot, my sister ordered the prime rib, and I believe I ordered a small sirloin. I do not eat prime rib but usually it's a nice deep pink color when my sister orders it at other places. This time it was not pink; my sirloin was flavored pretty well but I still used A-1 for a bit extra flavor.

For desert we ordered the peach cobbler which wasn't bad, but I think the crust was store bought - not bad in and of itself, I guess I was hoping for something thicker and much flakier.

So yes, the food was good but considering we live in Laveen, I would not say it was good enough to drive back all that way ... unless we happen to be in the area for another hike. In which case, yeah, I would eat at Dirtwater again. :-)

The best Fish fry EVER! it's never greasy like most fried fish. I always wish I'd have gotten the valley you can eat because 4 just leaves me wanting more. I'm full at 4 but I'm not done tasting it. The tartar sauce is perfect! I'm not a fan of the French fries....skinny and a tad overdone for my taste but you may be crazy about them! The Cole slaw is pickley tasting and too sweet and tart for me but you may like it.
While you are eating here, you have to read the story about the ghost of Dirt Water Springs... then take a trip to the ladies room....
It's very cool inside in the summer too! Old style Western decor..original as it can be.
It's the best stop for after your late trip!

What a great find! Top quality in an unexpected part of town. Crispy chicken, juicy burgers, think cut bacon and all the top homemade favorites made from scratch. Our waitress said the fried chicken took a little longer than everything else on the menu because they dipped it made it fresh to order. Totally worth the wait. Clean, Casual and Classic salon’ish style that’s also appropriate for kids. The massive drink selection is impressive and fun. The bar itself is a treasure.

The mashed potatoes tasted like they were whipped in a toilet bowl full of diarrhea. My wife gagged when she took a bite. Only one star because our server was nice
