We enjoyed this restaurant very much after a hot, tiring day at the Battleship. We arrived before the dinner crowd and were seated immediately.
The servers were amazing. The service was fast. The candlelight was a nice touch. The view of the gulf was so beautiful. I enjoyed watching the boats go by and the birds dive after fish.
The crab cakes were moist and tasty. The green tomatoes still had some crunch.
The fish tacos came with the crab soup. Yummy.
The whitefish, slaw and fries were good too.
Price was reasonable.

Can't say enough about our waiter William. He was so knowledgeable and had a great since of humor. He is the one who made our dining experience so memorable. The food was fantastic as was my drink I ordered. It was just perfect and it was all because of William. We will definitely come again. If you read this much and you go to eat there ask for William. He's the nice young man with the red hair. ????

I wish we had more views of the water, but we were seated in the bar area. We didn't want to wait for the main dining room (30 mins). It was still nice. I could see water from the two windows.

We were so full leaving. I wish i had room for dessert. I should have asked to take one home. We had the 3 mini soups as our appetizers. Omg. So yummy. I had a soft shell crab panini with corn and lima bean ???? side. My partner had a fresh snapper. He had mac and cheese and fried green tomatoes. He said this was his favorite meal since coming to the Gulf coast. The 3 year old enjoyed a side of brown rice.
I had a nice local beer. Yum.

Amanda and the other servers and hostesses were so friendly and helpful.

The only kinda bad thing was the bathroom. The water at the sink splashed all over me. I was kinda surprised by the pressure. ???? Also, they didn't have a kids' menu. Not a big issue because she was happy with her rice and trying what we ordered.

It is near the USS Alabama and not far from Downtown Mobile. I would include this place if you and your family are spending a day or weekend in Mobile.

We stopped by after spending the day visiting the USS Alabama- no reservations on a Saturday afternoon- about 4:30. We were told an hour wait. Yikes! Offered the bar area as an alternative to the wait. We sat ourselves, and instantly were greeted our server, Alex, who took our drink order and offered suggestions for popular dishes.
We ordered the drink of the day (mystic breeze) waters and Coke products. Corn jalapeño fritters and a crab soup were the starters. I was expecting the fritters to be warm, but they were not. They were deeply fried and crunchy with spicy bits of jalapeño. The dipping sauce was a nice addition. The crab soup was NOT sherry cream based, but was delicious! (I find too often that crab soup leans too heavily on the sherry- clouding the crab taste) the crab was fresh and in abundance, mixing well with the cream.
The Cesar and camp salads arrived next- both nicely dressed with fresh greens and hearts of palm and artichokes on the camp salad.
For the entrees- I had shrimp and grits with green beans. The grits and brown sauce were pretty good, there was 10 nice sized tail on shrimp that were cooked nicely but not to the rubbery point. The green beans were the most flavorful that I have ever eaten out, and were NOT drenched with bacon grease. They were delicious. My daughter had the chicken parmigiana, she said it was good. Chicken was delicious, sauce was on the light side, Angel hair pasta made it not seem too heavy.
Hubby’s burger was actually cooked well done (he ordered it that way but it usually doesn’t come cooked that way) and was nice and flavorful. Fries were abundant.
Service was without a doubt the MOST attentive we have had dining out in YEARS. Beyond excellent! Definitely will be back when in the area!

Decided to stop for mid-week lunch. Arrived at opening and was promptly greeted and seated. Allie did a great job with service, very attentive and accommodating. We enjoyed the Crab Soup, Fish Tacos and Oyster Po-Boy. All were FANTASTIC!!! There is a reason their Crab Soup is a local and tourist favorite!

I stopped here because it sits on the coast of the gulf of Mexico! The view was amazing. I ordered crab cakes which came on top of fried green tomatoes with corn and squash succotash as my side. I also ordered grits covered with two grilled pork chops and crawfish creole sauce with turnips on the side. The food was fresh and well flavored. The portion size was huge. I would recommend this place to anyone traveling through the area as I was!
