Several friends recommended this spot to me saying it was probably the best Mobile has to offer. After trying a few of the other locations downtown I have to agree. The plating is fantastic - actually up to date and well done. Fresh ingredients and seasonally prepared. Drinks are creative and modern as well. I had the scallops which were great! Just the perfect hint of curry sauce and the corn was a great touch. The I ordered my wagyu (American) steak rare and it came out on point. Very tender and presented perfectly with a few grilled simmer squashes. The dessert was decadent and a real treat.

I dinged the service one star and atmosphere two because my reservation was not honored at a table, I was placed at the bar. I didn’t make a fuss until after the meal, and the extremely good manager Elizabeth apologized so I wasn’t too upset. Easy to fix for their open table reservations - either put a note saying solo travelers will be at the bar or honor the table reservation. Just my two cents.

We received excellent service even though we didn't have reservations, and it seemed like most people also didn't. However, we were seated in a neighboring area and had to walk out to use the restrooms. On the bright side, the food was incredibly flavorful and well-seasoned. Additionally, the prices for the food were just right.

The service was excellent. The atmosphere, and the lighting inside is exceptional. And every bite of the meal was perfection! I had the arugula salad and my son had the catfish.

A job well done all the way from the sweet tea to the bowl of water for our pop and the excellent food and service. Thank you so much I highly recommend.

A true farm-to-table experience! Everything was fresh and tasted delicious!! Our waiter was awesome, and provided superior service! ⭐️ I forget his name, but this guy could’ve sold me a rock off the street lol! He knew the menu very well, so much that I could taste the savory dish beforehand just off his description. It’s really an art that all waiters should master. Kudos to him!!

My SO ordered the brisket meal w/ cauliflower, and sweet potatoes (the waiter can describe it much better lol). He was a big fan of the brisket & cauliflower. Says the brisket was tender/moist, yet was perfectly crispy on the outside.

I ordered the deviled eggs with roe (no bacon)- and my goodness they were heavenly! I also ordered the vegetable plate (chef’s seasonal choice): perfectly seared sweet potatoes topped w/ Parmesan cheese and chives- omg! This was everything!! Sautéed bok choy w/ tofu- my goodness! So much flavor! And get this, a cucumber salad w/ mint and Homeade salad dressing. I was a happy human!! Lol! We also ordered drinks- which were nicely infused…subtle. Then, there was the semifreddo banana pudding. I was a first-timer. It was different, yet flavorful and satisfying.

The Noble South
Atmosphere:
Slow oldies music, holiday (we visited just before Christmas). Very high ceiling and a relatively narrow space. Make reservations to make sure you are seated. We ate at the bar.

Food:
Shrimp and Grits
This one is a really good contender for the best of the best I've tried… and I've had plenty to compare it to. The egg was an interesting touch, plenty of sauce to not let the grits be too dry nor become a soup. I would recommend grilling the shrimp with some Cajun seasoning to see how that turns out. The grits grow on you throughout the meal.

Wagyu Brisket
If more than one person is dining… this is a must on the table. Great crisp on the outside with tender meat. The condiments were a great companion to the deliciously seasoned and prepared meat.

Tres Leches
The cake on this was a bit of a disappointment as it was a bit too grainy. We think it may have been gluten-free, even so, the cake was moist. The frosting and the sauce were great.

Service:
Very attentive and friendly.

Final thoughts:
A definite must-try for the foodies out there.

A fantastic little restaurant in the heart of Mobile, Alabama. The deviled eggs were a perfect start, my shrimp and grits were scrumptious, and my wife loved the yellowfin tuna. If you're looking for a decadent and classy meal in Mobile, you couldn't do better.

This was probably the best meal I've ever eaten ???? everything was super delicious and fresh! I went with some friends and we all got something different and everything was ???????? the menu was small and only had what was in season. We didn't have to wait long for a table or to eat!!! I highly recommend this place.
