I honestly wasn't impressed with my plate, it wasn't seasoned, I honestly left 80% of my food on the plate, so maybe I should have ordered something else. However our waitress Cindy was the absolute best, she was a Sweetie, so that made our visit exceptional.

Have been wanting to try this place for a while and finally made it Sunday. It was very busy as expected I had no problem waiting bc I wanted to try the food. Which was a disappointment to everyone at my table. We all ordered something tht we love and nothing was good to us, no one finished their food. We wanted to try other stuff like a waffle for example and there is no alcarte option you had to get the whole meal, I'm glad we didn't. Everything we asked our waitress about the answer was no. This was definitely not worth the $100 it cost, I could've had better at Cracker Barrell.

A Culinary Delight and Stellar Service at Spot of Tea!

Spot of Tea in downtown Mobile, Alabama is an absolute gem that deserves every bit of praise! From the moment we stepped foot in this charming establishment, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. Our dining experience was nothing short of exceptional, and I can confidently say that Spot of Tea has earned every one of its five stars.

Let's start with the food. Oh my goodness, the Blackened Shrimp and Grits with Andouille Sausage were a true revelation. Each bite was a symphony of flavors that danced on my palate. The shrimp were perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection, while the grits had a comforting, creamy texture that complemented the dish flawlessly. The addition of Andouille sausage provided a delightful smoky kick, rounding out the dish and taking it to the next level. Spot of Tea knows how to make shrimp and grits shine!

I also had the pleasure of trying the Eggs Cathedral, and it was a true breakfast masterpiece. The eggs were light and fluffy on the inside with a golden, slightly crispy exterior. The dish was packed with an array of fresh, vibrant flavors that melded together beautifully. Every bite was an explosion of taste, and it left me craving more. I was impressed by the care and attention to detail that went into creating such a delightful breakfast experience.

To accompany our meal, we indulged in some iced coffee, and it was the perfect beverage to complement our dishes. The coffee was rich, smooth, and refreshing, providing a wonderful balance of flavors. It served as a delightful pick-me-up and paired wonderfully with the savory and bold flavors of our food.

Now, let me take a moment to acknowledge our server, Terri. Her exceptional service elevated our dining experience to new heights. Terri was attentive, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. She went above and beyond to ensure that we had everything we needed, and her recommendations were spot-on. Her warm and genuine demeanor made us feel like valued guests, and her passion for her work was evident in every interaction. Thank you, Terri, for making our visit to Spot of Tea truly memorable!

In addition to the outstanding food and service, the ambiance of Spot of Tea was delightful. The cozy and inviting atmosphere, paired with the friendly staff, created an experience that was both comfortable and enjoyable. It's a perfect spot to start your day or enjoy a leisurely brunch with friends and family.

All in all, Spot of Tea in downtown Mobile, Alabama is a culinary haven that excels in every aspect. The Blackened Shrimp and Grits with Andouille Sausage and Eggs Cathedral were absolute delights for the taste buds, the iced coffee was a refreshing delight, and the service provided by Terri was second to none. If you're in Mobile and looking for an unforgettable dining experience, do yourself a favor and visit Spot of Tea--you won't be disappointed!

A large variety of menu options to choose from, unassuming but tasty food, with both outdoor patio seating as well as indoor seating. Lots of southern and southern-inspired food options, as well as lots of classics. Friendly if at times a little inefficient service

I would love to give this place a better review because the food was phenomenal. However, my aunt, who is allergic to strawberries, ordered iced tea and it came with a strawberry syrup which the waiter never mentioned or warned her about. Luckily she had only taken a tiny sip and we had some antihistamines on hand.

The second reason this place doesn't get a higher rating is the decor. It is tired and sad and really needs updating.

Onto the food though. I ordered a blackened shrimp and cheese grits bowl which came with andouille sausage. It was DIVINE. The flavours were rich and spicy. The grits balanced out the Cajun seasoning well. It came with bread which wasn't needed tbh.

Awesome atmosphere, weather was fantastic. Food came out fast and was very good. Definitely recommend the Monte Christo. And the Banna Foster's cheesecake

A beautiful and unfussy American café with whiffs of French Louisianian vibes.

The place can get packed, especially on the weekends, and can take a while to get a table, but it's worth it. Service is pretty good and homely (thank you Heather!) and the food is just as great. The Eggs Cathedral, in particular, are a huge portion of delicious food.

Worth checking out at least once if you're in town!

This place pops up when you search for a place to eat in Mobile. The wait depending upon time of day and where you want to sit can be extremely long.

We got super lucky and were hungry and had a time crunch so needed to eat n get out. We got our seats right away and our order was taken immediately as well. Little did we know, that we had to wait forever for our food to arrive!!

The waitress was sweet and kept encouraging that our food was coming and there was a large group ahead of us, but the excuses were not justifiable. The large group arrived after we did and the party of 2 who had a different waiter came after us and their food arrived before us.

I dont know if because the service left a bad taste or seriously our food was horrible...I would probably not go back. My grill cheese tasted sweet n was burnt. My potatoes tasted sweet also with no flavor...I finally found the culprit...there was a sauté banana which made my meal sweet.
My son was not happy with his rubbery eggs either and his sweet potatoes!

The best part was our delicious chocolate cake...if you are craving something sweet this is a great choice! I loved how the restaurant looked and the vibe....but the service n food failed us this time around.
