2.5/5 for my whiskey service and that they closed early. I can not personally judge on the food
I loved the environment! Walking up to the place it looked great. Walking inside matched.
After a while I started wondering why a place that has so much potential was so empty at 2000 on a Saturday so I read the reviews. Styrofoam plates and cups for $15 meals?(and not everyone is enjoying the food) Someone is being a cheap ass just trying to make a margin for inadequate number of guests.
The place looks like it would work fantastic as a college bar but that it caters to the homegrown family or people on first dates.
I was there drinking whiskey out of a plastic cup for almost 4 hours and in that time their was 4 other guests when I got there and 2 when I left.
Service was good enough.
They closed 3 hours early on account of it being slow.

The ratings for this place doesn't do it justice. Food is really good and consistent. I typically get the catfish amd shrimp which are both excellent! My husband has also had the oysters and he liked them. We have taken several people there and everyone agrees. Definitely recommend! Check the hours of operation though because they're not always open.

All the one star and two star reviews say it all. Waited over an hour for our food while they were NOT busy. My oyster poboy was soggy bread with soggy breading on occasional oyster bites. Atmosphere was great but that’s were it stops. My husband got a $16 catfish plate that was pitiful.

They gave us a “discount” for the wait/bad service and the food was still over $30

This is a super unique place offering some amazing seafood. Service was a bit slow when we went but that could have been due to the fact that the fair was in town and the Alabama game was on. I'll definitely be fling back though. That fried shrimp was awesome!

There is never enough help in this place. Nice people and good food but slow service. Don't go if time is limited. Prices are fair. When ordering grilled, especially for children, you may want to ask about the seasoning. My healthy grilled fish was too salty to eat due to excessive seasoning.

To say disappointed would be an understatement. I have been here a few times and always ordered boiled shrimp and had a good experience. After hearing me talking about it my dad took my mom for her birthday. They had a HORRIBLE experience. My dad's catfish tasted as if it had been "mud" fed, my mom's "grilled" shrimp was even grilled just warmed up, and the margaritas tasted as if they came out of a cheap premixed pack. On top of that they had horrible service from the waitress.
I'm not sure if it depends on the night you go or if they are under new management but I won't be recommending them again ????

Environment isn't too bad. Service wasn't bad. But the small portions and paper dinnerware were just the tip of the iceberg for an 80$ meal for two. The food was terrible. Side items arose awful. I'd call this place an "all hype" type of place. Won't be going back again.

We really love to dine here. Great seafood without having to drive to the coast. Cost is comparable to coastal areas. Preparation is wonderful. Especially like fried oysters and scallops. Very few restaurants serve these as greatly prepared as the Cotton Gin. Always suggest this restaurant to all.
