Ken's BBQ has some pretty good BBQ. Highly recommend getting the chopped pork there. The regular barbeque sauce is a split between Memphis and South Carolina style sauce (a slightly thick vinegary sweet sauce). Do get their banana pudding as well (some of the better ones I've had here in the south). The ambiance is friendly and inviting, and the wait staff were attentive and served with a smile. It is tucked away further out from Birmingham, but it is worth the drive. I heard the breakfast here is pretty good as well, so I will be back for it next time I am in the area.

The best BBQ in town. Friendly staff and clean establishment. We came on a Saturday and they were able to get us seated right away. The server, Megan, was very attentive and professional. She made sure to check on us often even though the restaurant was pretty busy. I got the BBQ pork sandwich with a side of onion rings and my husband got a triple plate (pork, chicken, and sausage). We both enjoyed it very much (especially the pork) and we will definitely be back in the future to try their breakfast. Also, their banana pudding is a must-try homemade dessert at Ken’s.

Always delicious and well worth the prices. The owner makes the lemon meringue pies fresh every day. Great breakfast in addition to the rest of the menu, wonderful staff and always a clean environment. I could go on and on about the staff and food.

My neighbor & his wife, invited my wife & I for a breakfast at Ken's. I had not eaten at the new location since Ken's move. Hands down - still one of the best place's I have ever eaten breakfast at! Considering how great everything else is - there is 1 staple breakfast item that we noted and feel that could use some "tweaking - or a make-over".

The scrambled eggs. We should have sent them back. Cold - maybe tepid at best. When the order was placed - wife & I both requested "scrambled eggs with cheese" along with several other tasty breakfast items. When our orders came out - - the eggs were maybe room temperature. The cheddar cheese - is just sprinkled on top of the eggs and not melted and blended in with the eggs. In fact, thinking about it now - the 2 scrambled eggs with cheese sprinkled on top - it looked like a pear salad.

Think I will skip eggs next time. Plenty of other breakfast items to choose from. I will return for sure!
Everything else we ordered (grits, gravy, ham & biscuits) - was hot and delicious!

The new spot Ken's moved to was so needed! Ken's used to be one of the very best "hole-in-the-wall" BBQ places in Alabama. Now, it's still some of the best BBQ you can get, but you can spread out a little! We moved, but it's STILL worth traveling an hour there and a very satisfied hour back!

I can't say enough good things about Ken's. The flavors they achieve with their BBQ are outstanding. The meat is always tender, the sauces are perfectly balanced, and the overall dining experience is fantastic. It's a BBQ joint that stands above the rest.

If you prefer a handheld option, the Rib Sandwich at Ken's is a great choice. The ribs were piled high on a bun, and every bite was packed with smoky, flavorful goodness. It's a BBQ sandwich worth trying.
