When walking in the door, you will get a hello. You'll also get a list of what is cooked fresh and will take longer. Order from the fresh everything else is cold and will need to be reheated when you get home. The guy cooking in the back will be real upset about that fresh order, but he will cook it. It's cool to wait for the food, because you'll also have to wait until they get done with they cigarette break to ring it up. The menu prices online will reflect $9 a plate. It's actually $12.50 to $13.50 a plate. They also don't offer Chicken breast. Any chicken plate you order will be a leg quarter

This is my new favorite restaurant. The staff is great and the food is amazing. Everything is seasoned just right everytime.

Just ate there with my Mom for lunch. Their menu is filled with classic soul food dishes. I had the fried chicken with mac and cheese and collards. They make the fried chicken fresh for each customer so be prepared for a bit of a wait but the result is truly worth it. The mac and cheese and collards were delicious. The service was excellent and you get the feeling that the two women working there have been doing this for decades; that their experience and wisdom comes through in the food they cook. I didnt think to try their desserts to my utter regret but it just means i have to come back again and make sure i try them next time. The decor was very classic mom-and-pop diner feel; very charming.

The food was okay. The mac n cheese was not our cup of tea. The chicken and pork chops were cooked hot and ready to order. The staff was nice and accommodating.

Food was terrible. I just lit a match to $36 leaving this place. Left Zaties because we didn't like what they were serving & went here. We both got chicken n dressing, took a bite of the dressing; nothing, tasteless!! It was weird because I smelt sage but didn't taste it. The turnips were canned & salted like they wanted to present them as fresh turnips. They were canned turnips. Pinto beans had no taste, which I don't understand because you can buy some good canned pinto beans. Maybe they just need to get the right brand of canned pintos. The macaroni n cheese, was burnt & tasteless. The tea had TOO much sugar!!! Only thing that appeared & tasted fresh was the fried okra. Now that I'm home typing this review, I think we should have told them. But something tells me they know. Whole time we were eating & when we left, NO ONE came in. My radar was activated then. We made a bad choice. We love to support black owned businesses but you got to give me QUALITY & this wasn't it. I hope this review helps the owner(s) & whomever else looking for a good place to get a meat & veggies.

Don't get me wrong I would eat there again, ir just want e my 1st choice when it comes to specifically wanting soul food like I did on this day, I will more than likely just go to the Apple Dumpling, they may be expensive but very much worth it! The soul food taste just want in Mrs.Kat's Kreations of her soul food.. #Appledumpling..

Absolutely terrible!!! Do not eat here ???? food was barely seasoned looks like it only had black pepper.
