We arrived in the borough of Juneau less than a week ago and have been taking advantage of the days before the cruise ships arrive!

One of our favorite local discoveries, is a local bar called called Squires. It is a sports bar with a good view, t.v. 's, pool tables, cheap drinks and great service. Morgan was our bartendress and she was fantastic; not only making great drinks, but sharing so many ins and outs of life in Juneau.

There is a separate business for food tucked in a corner called The Anchor. The food is fantastic and the owner emulates that warm, welcoming Alaskan spirit that we have come to adore.

We came here in the recommendation of friends, but were bitterly disappointed. The atmosphere and bar service were mediocre. The food order took much longer than any burger and fries should take. The burger was overcooked and flat in flavor. The fries were completely limp and greasy. I might give them a second chance, but I doubt it.

Really not sure how the food is here.
We sat at a table for over 15 minutes and never was acknowledged. So we went downstairs to the Auke bay cafe and had an awesome meal.

Very authentic vibe with great food. Great view of the bay and friendly bartenders. Highly recommend it.

IDK - was headed in and guy was on the back deck waving his arms at people. Was a bit off-putting.

Went next door instead and had a sandwich and fresh beer out in the sun. ????????u200d♂️????????u200d♂️
