They have the make your own sandwiches with plenty of choice of ingredients. We made crab sandwiches, and ordered a bow of chowder soup and a hot chocolate. The crab is pretty fresh and chewy. The place is pretty clean and warm, service is good. absolutely love this place!

Ate at the chowder house today, the halibut meal and seafood pasta meal were delicious. Service was great too! Thanks Alaska we’re heading back to Ohio!!

The food here is great; my children also really loved this place. They say they want to come back next week. They both gave it a five star review and recommended anyone to definitely come here. We had all of their chowders and their Tomato Florentine soup. Also had a crab salad sandwich.

We are from Georgia and visiting and this place is a gem! Love the halibut corn chowder and the crab rolls and the crab salad they put on sandwiches. Very fast service and worth the money. Came in around 12:30 and we ate and left within 30 minutes because the food came so fast and it was so delicious we finished it fast.

The food was amazing. Just come here. The halibut corn chowder was so amazing, like getting you back to pop just right. The sandwich I had was made perfectly and with love as if my mother was in the back of the restaurant cooking. The delectable deserts all sounded good but I had the diabetes by chocolate cake. The food here is so amazing, I would happily punt a baby to get more of it. I seriously had a food coma and it is rare I can eat that much delicious food. I am definitely going back, and our waiter, he is a good egg. Very helpful, kind and honestly explained the menu. His enthusiasm for the menu showed while he talked about the our options for eating. 10/10 would recommend. Food so good it tastes like angels kissed it.

The food here was so amazing I went twice during my week in fairbanks. I went on "Thanksgiving day" and they had a special menu. The clam chowder, potstickers and teriyaki salmon were "chef's ???? "

Huge disappointment. Ordered the Salmon chowder.... Where's the salmon?
The chowder was tasteless. No taste of salmon or any other flavors, it was so bland. My friend got the same chowder and felt the same way.
I've had amazing Salmon chowder in the Northwest, so when I took a bite I was turned off immediately. Not even hot sauce or black peppered was going to save this. Also it was barely warm and I just couldn't even eat it. Basically I ended up with a $17 croissant since that was the only edible item I ordered. Normally I would give a restaurant a second or even a third chance, but not place.
I'll try another place in Fairbanks that I'm willing to spend the money on.

We ordered food for pick-up and it was ready when I arrived.

Should be no surprise to anyone that a place called "Chowder House" had awesome clam chowder. My wife and I split a bowl, and there was plenty for both of us.

I had the shrimp wrap which I really enjoyed. There was a lot of shrimp packed into the wrap which was a nice surprise.

My wife and daughter had samdwiches, which they both rated as five stars. We all shared the chicken alfredo. Good stuff there as well.

At the end of the meal we noticed the slice of apple pie we ordered was missing. No big deal. These things happen. We called the restaurant and they were good about correcting the error.

I definitely plan to go back for the chowder and to try some other menu items.
