The staff was superb ????. The food.......OMG, I thought they had a kitchen full of grandma's in there. Food hot, seasoned. I'm addicted. Don't walk.......RUN!!!!

July 15, 2023, I recently had an extremely disappointing experience at J Rodgers BBQ in Saraland. Despite their advertised closing time of 5 PM on Saturdays, I arrived at 4:36 PM to place a to-go order, only to be rudely informed that the kitchen had already closed at 4:30 PM, just 6 minutes after my arrival. As a customer who respects business hours, I was shocked and appalled by their lack of consideration and unhelpful attitude.

While I understand the importance of adhering to closing times, I believe that the staff member, a female, could have handled the situation with more tact and professionalism. Instead of dismissing my request outright, she could have taken a moment to check if any other food options were available, given that I was only minutes late. A little empathy and understanding go a long way in fostering a positive customer experience.

The dismissive response of "well it's closed" left a very sour taste in my mouth. As a result, I have decided not to patronize J Rodgers BBQ ever again. This kind of customer service is simply unacceptable, and it's evident that they do not value their customers.

I had been a loyal customer of J Rodgers BBQ, but after this incident, they have lost me permanently. As a consumer, I expect to be treated with respect and courtesy, especially when I am trying to support a local business.

In conclusion, I cannot recommend J Rodgers BBQ in Saraland due to their unaccommodating attitude, lack of empathy, and premature kitchen closure. I encourage potential customers to be wary of their commitment to customer service and adherence to posted business hours. There are plenty of other establishments in the area that value their customers and provide a better overall experience.

As far as the food goes it was excellent. Tender juicy ribs and all the fixens. Service on the other hand was down rite redioulous. Our waitress and another waitress kept Comming by our table and picking up our plates of food then asking o are u done wit this after the fact that they already had there dirty Lil hands on it. Not once but multiple times. So much so that we got up paid out I'll and left never to return to this place

We used to go there frequently when we lived on that side of town a few months ago. The buffet was excellent then, but the quality has since gone down. The food on the buffet looked old and there were empty pans that looked like it was peach cobbler. It was empty when we got there and was never replenished. There were two pieces of fried chicken and when we asked for more there was probably eight pieces brought out that was gone in minutes and was never replenished. Looks like the crew has changed and our server was not as friendly as the old crew. I don’t think the money we spent was even worth it. This was one of our favorite places to eat, but may not even return.

Rib sauce was good but the ribs although dry were tasty. Dry perhaps leftover from yesterday. Service. Was very good
in the past ,ribs were tender. But not today!

Absolutely delicious!! An old friend who used to live across the street from me invited me to go eat here one day back in 2018.. been going ever since!! Never had anything better !!

Stopped by for the first time and was very happy I did very friendly staff and the food was good too . The buffet was a little pricey for the lack of selection on it.
I'll definitely go back and try a bbq sandwich next time.

The BEST bbq I’ve ever had!! And I’m a picky bbq eater. Greens were good! Sausage was delicious! And the ribs omg! ???? staff was very friendly! The art on the wall is very fun to look at. Lots of vintage things! Highly recommend!!
