Hazel Green now has one of the best Mexican restaurants around. Yes, this place is in a gas station, but trust me, the food is delicious. I definitely recommend the chicken Cheri-polo. The restaurant is bigger than expected as well. Service is very good. There is also a small bar inside. We eat here every time now and never had a bad experience. I have friends that eat here twice a week! Go check them out.

I stop by this place every Friday for some homemade tacos. The food here is very good. The portions are generous, the service is great and the price is perfect. I highly recommend it!

This place is fabulous! Food is always delicious. Expansive menu of authentic Mexican dishes. Staff is attentive. Service is great. Food is always piping hot!

My husband and I visited this restaurant! The food is absolutely amazing and not to mention the customer service is second to none. We had the street tacos and they were the best we've ever had. The Margaritas are amazing and is not made with cheap liquor. We started with two tacos each and we immediately had to order 2 more. We live in Madison, however the drive was so worth it. I'll definitely be visiting again soon.

Update. The food quaily has significantly increased. The fajitas were great. One plate fed two of us. Service needs a bit more work.

Original post: So-so experience. Better than average for Mexican in Northern Alabama. Restaurant was clean and inviting. Agree with the other posts here, the service was marginal. The Beef Chunks Chimicanga was decent the meat was tender but could use more seasoning/flavor. The chips were over cooked however, the salsa was great.

I will definitely return to this place! The service was great and the food was fantastic!
I ordered the
FAJITA BURRITO (steak)
12.99
Flour tortilla filled with grilled chicken or steak, topped with cheese sauce, grilled tomatoes, onions, and bell peppers.
Served with rice and beans.
They did not skimp on the ingredients, including the steak! I could not finish my meal and I truly enjoyed my leftovers the next day!
It may not look like much from the outside, but it is definitely worth checking out!

Fresh guacamole, medium zesty salsa, smooth and creamy refried beans, and ample seasoning all make the plates at Los Compadres quite tasty. The service was quick and friendly. The restaurant is brightly decorated and very clean. There's even a small bar area done in wood and tile. We beat the dinner crowd by getting there around 4:45p. I definitely recommend you try this place for yourself.

Went here on a Friday night - very busy, but no wait. Service was quck and very good. Chips and salsa served quickly. Salsa had good flavor but no heat. Food was awesome and large portions. Guacamole was fresh and really delicious. The fajita quesadilla was fantastic, as well as the chimachanga. Beer on tap was cold, huge, and in a frosted mug. We will go back.
