I didn't stay at the hotel but dined at the restaurant!! It was absolutely amazing! Well worth the price... portions were perfect! They were fresh... genuinely from their garden to table.

If you're looking to unwind, this place is a must!
We ordered the Seafood linguine and Salmon and Gnocchi.. absolutely amazing!

Small but mighty. Best food we have had in 60 days in Alaska. The small menu has something for everyone and tries to use locally sourced. Everything we had was incredible and wish we could have come back to try other items.

The bang bang shrimp was crispy and perfectly cooked with the right amount of kick to the sauce, crab cakes were outstanding and more crab than filling! The halibut chowder was my favorite…. Very hearty and had ample halibut and crab and a delicious cream tarragon flavor…. Light yet rich.

Service was stellar, friendly and didn’t make us feel rushed (every other place in Skagway did).

Didn't stay at the inn but enjoyed a great lunch at the restaurant. All around enjoyable experience inside and out. The gardens outside were relaxing and the service inside the restaurant was friendly. Soup, chili, and Mason's were all fresh and filling.
Skipped dessert, but the options looked tasty.

Food was okay but the service was very slow and the servers were honestly quite rude and not good at communicating.

Our order was punched in wrong so our food took longer than we would have expected, however we were not informed about the delay. When we asked how much longer our food would be, we got sass and terrible attitudes from the servers.

While I understand the food is “made from scratch”, it would be nice to know why everyone else is getting their food before us.

Also, if you’re out of an ingredient for an item you should inform the customer of any substitutions you’re making BEFORE you bring the food out or at least give us the option to make our own substitutions.

I would look into more training for the staff, this whole experience put a terrible taste in my mouth for Skagway.

We stopped here after a float down the river. The portions are large and delicious. We really enjoyed the chowder! Service was slow, but I get the sense that it's the standard in a sleepy town. It seemed to be a bit farther away than the usual tourist traps.. but definitely worth the stop. If we ever come back, we'd love to stay in the hotel for the night.

Restaurant was fantastic end to our perfect day in Skagway! We had one of the best meals during our 10 day vacation through Alaska! The staff was great as well!

This oldest restaurant in Alaska was important during the Gold Rush, and was visited by people like President Warren Harding in 1923. Alaskan Halibut Cakes are served here and the restaurant and recipe are in my book Oldest Restaurants in the USA and Europe. Dr. Diane Holloway Cheney. Don't miss the bordellos and local specialties like reindeer sausage.

Food was great, ambience really good as well.
The problem here was the server. Really a shame that the service tainted our visit. Was told that they couldn't do a side of bread with our meal because 'the kitchen hates doing that.'
After paying the bill received a 'hmph' and walk away with not even a thanks. Would return and request the tip back if we could.
A Skagway landmark deserves much better.
