A great restaurant for breakfast. Huge selection of food. Our waitress was prompt, kept our coffees hot and full, and was helpful with choices on the menu. Lots of regular customers shows how good the service and food are. Stuffed hash browns are like eating a loaded baked potato for breakfast! Definitely an item you should try.

Don't let the rough exterior put you off. This local favorite has everything one would want in a restaurant. Good food, good service and a genuinely pleasant environment. Try the reindeer sausage! I did!

The service was great. Food was great. Comfort food at its finest. The only reason I gave 4 out of 5 stars is because it was uncomfortably hot in there... So much so that the wall I sat next to was sticky with humidity. Go figure! It's Alaska! But it was summer and one of the hottest days of the year. They probably don't need air conditioning 10 months out of the year, but it would be sooo worth it for their summer tourists. My step son actually said, this would have been the best breakfast sandwich I've ever eaten but I can't enjoy it because it's hard to breathe in here!

Very nice reception from the employees. Decor was subtle and inviting. Pleasant to see everyone smiling. My waitress was Emily. She was kind, helpful in menu selection and very courteous to everyone she waited on. I ordered the Hometown Grand Slam with a side of French toast. Entering was very well flavored and cooked to perfection. Nothing was over or under cooked. Portions and large week with the price posted. I highly recommend visiting the Hometown Restaurant of your in the Fairbanks area.

We visited The family restaurant for breakfast for lunch. The restaurant was clean and they were decorating for Christmas we were greeted and seated immediately. The menu has lots of choices. Our waitress was very prompt and friendly. The food come out quickly and for the most part looked great The only reason for 4 stars is the hashbrowns were burnt and not much them very thin and sausage gravy on the biscuits and gravy there was no sausage kinda sad. Overall a good experience and we will definitely visit again soon. Tho with some minor improvements this could be a absolutely fantastic place.

Reliable quality and always warm, friendly service. This is my go-to spot for breakfast and lunch, especially for the burgers, skillets and biscuits and gravy. The waitresses and staff here are always friendly and well meaning and no matter how busy they are, they keep it professional and courteous.

If you're in Fairbanks, this place is a must try.

I’m a two strikes and you’re out kind of guy.
Been here twice. Both times the food was good.
(Even though the second time they brought me something I didn’t order.)
However, the service was lousy.
Good food ain’t worth putting up with poor service, and a server with an attitude.
If they make a mistake on your order it’s YOUR fault, not theirs. And they’ll expect you to pay for food you didn’t order, and they won’t make right.
Perhaps if the servers spoke English as a 1st language instead of a 2nd language they’d get your order right.
And if you’d like to place an order to go to get some good food but avoid the staff, forget it….. they don’t answer the phone.
I’m not even sure why bother to keep a phone line. ????
In short,……. seek another place to eat.

Fantastic breakfast at Hometown! Husband is particular about his country fried steak but he said multiple times this was *very* good- great sawmill gravy! Some places up here in Fairbanks add weird things to their country gravy and it tastes weird but this is definitely a good gravy. Pancakes were fantastic! We will definitely be back and this will be a place we bring guests. Also the staff never let our drinks run low and they were hustling the entire time getting orders out!
