GREAT place to stop for a REAL old fashioned breakfast and DELICIOUS! Biscuits are soft and touched by angels. The red eye gravy is just like I remember my grandma making and the tomato gravy was amazing. I’ll be making a plan to stop here again!

This is a must visit for locals, travelers, and tourists alike. If you’re interested in Alabama pics and portraits, the walls are literally covered.

The place is small, but cozy. Even with a wait for tables, it moves pretty fast. They have a traditional breakfast menu and wonderful, friendly service. HIGHLY recommended.

We haven't been here in quite a while so we randomly decided to pop in for breakfast around 9am.

Our waitress was very friendly and helpful.

I got 2 eggs over medium, Conecuh sausage, grits, and biscuits. My wife and I shared a short stack of pancakes as well. She got 2 eggs over medium with bacon, grits, and biscuits.

Every item was absolutely delicious! I'm pretty strict on Keto, but this was worth the splurge. Literally the ONLY issue we had was we ordered, and received, a short stack of pancakes. We were billed for a full stack, but we didn't complain. Overall, a very good experience and we've already talked about coming back again very soon.

Get there early! It’s great! Haven’t been there in years. Biscuits, light and fluffy! Eggs perfectly cooked. The grits definitely a southern delicacy. The wife got the short stack and couldn’t finish it! Great food. Great service. Interesting conversation between guests. Definitely a family owned operation. 15 tables, probably seats less than 50. So remember.. get there as early as you can! It’s worth it.

The Southern Restaurant that has stood the tst of time. Great food, great service, and a great experience. If you visit Tuscaloosa, you have to allow yourself 90 minutes or so to enjoy a great meal at Waysiders.

Had an excellent breakfast. Traveling with friends who have known this restaurant from years past and it did not disappoint. Waitress was personable and provided great service. Atmosphere is comfortable, homelike.

One of Tuscaloosa oldest landmark restaurants. Coach Bryant often had breakfast at the Waysider his favorite table has a small bust of him on it. The food is great and the service is outstanding. Breakfast is what most know about the Waysider but lunch is also a real treat to great southern food served fresh and hot. The homemade deserts are mouthwatering treats for your sweet-tooth. Handwritten menu`s are passed around by friendly customers many are regulars. Be sure to make this one of your stops on visit to T-Town.

The Waysider was recommended to us by a local person when we were visiting Tuscaloosa. It was the best experience. The food was great, and the staff was even better than that. They treated us like we were old friends. Without a doubt, I will eat at Waysider on every visit to Tuscaloosa.
