We all had the baked seafood platter. Now it comes with gumbo. Most places can’t cook gumbo. This gumbo was superb. The shrimp, crab cakes, stuffed crab, and fish were fabulous. I will be back.

Good food. Big portions. I've only gotten take out here. Never been disappointed. The seafood can be fried, grilled, or baked. I've gotten the fried seafood and it is lightly breaded which is great because it's not all bread. This is a good place with good food.

They claim to have the best shrimp in the entire civilized world (their slogan, not mine). I’m not sure I can argue. My wife had the stuffed crabs. It was also delicious. I would definitely recommend.

We fell in love with this place! The staff were all so friendly and gave us recommendations. I would definitely come back! If you're in the area, check this place out for the best Bushwacker I've ever had!

This is my “must stop” whenever we are anywhere in the vicinity of Orange Beach (and honestly even within an hour or more’s drive). I love Doc’s. Their claim of “The best fried shrimp in the entire civilized world.” Is completely valid. I have never had anything any better!

Today, for me, shrimp as usual. Husband had the seafood platter and a dozen raw oysters along with a bowl of delicious gumbo!

First time I've ever ate here and it was great! Food was amazing and very fairly priced! I had grilled shrimp, and subbed a salad and green beans out for the fries and coleslaw due to dietary restrictions, but the salad and green beans were great! They give you 3 skewers with 5 shrimp on them and the shrimp were cooked perfect and had a great flavor. I did try one of my wife's hush puppies and they were excellent as well! All in all the from the service to the food to the atmosphere Doc's Seafood Shack and Oyster Bar is a great hidden gem in Orange Beach. We've definitely found a new favorite spot when we come back in the future. A word of advice though, definitely get there early!

First time visit. The food was excellent, and the staff were very busy. One thing I did notice here and a great idea, they bring, with your drink, an extra jug of drink so you don't keep getting the server back to your table on a regular basis, awesome idea, I wish a lot more establishments would do the same. I recommend a few visits ????????

4 stars... I'll start at the beginning. We arrived at 11am when they open. An inviting atmosphere! We were immediately seated by the hostess. Our waitress came over quick to get our drink orders. Very nice waitress! When she came back (quickly) she had our drinks along with a pitcher of each of our drinks! Amazing!!! We then placed our orders. We both had the fried fish with sides. We asked for extra tarter sauce. She left to put our orders in and came back in under a minute with a large squeeze bottle of tarter sauce! Another amazing fact! We ate our meal and she came back often to check on us. She was very attentive to us and gave us top notch service!! As we got up to leave she made sure to thank us for coming in.

So far... The restaurant is clean and the service is way above average. Our waitress was outstanding! The atmosphere is great. The restaurant filled up quickly telling me this is a great place to be.

So why the deduction of one star? The food. We are in a beach town with many many seafood restaurants to choose from. As I mentioned we had the fried fish. It was good fish. However, not great fish. We got our orders in about four minutes of placing them. I noticed that everyone were getting their orders in about the same amount of time. Can they cook that fast? Nope! The fish had a good taste and flavoring but it was tough. It was like leftovers you bring home and then put into a microwave. It was not hot like just out of the frier but it was warm. Everything was warm. Not hot. With the speed that everyone's orders came out and the quality of the food this leads me to believe that they cook a whole bunch at one time and then put it all under heat lamps. I could be wrong but that is what I Invision.

So should you come here? Like I've said the food is good and what I haven't said it is at a good price. The service is outstanding! You decide...
