Ordered breakfast to go. Service was quick and easy .food came out quick yet tasted freshly cooked. Couldn't ask for better atmosphere with pics all over wall and a local scenery worthy of being in Mayberry R.F.D for those that know. When you know you know. City cafe has seating throughout as well as a bar to eat at. Roll Tides are appreciated

Great place! Feels like you walked into grandma's kitchen on a Sunday morning, feels homey and warm. Great food for a great price. And everyone makes u feel welcomed and the service is great. Will definitely recommend!

Furnishings haven't been updated since the place opened for business in the 60s, but don't let that throw you; it's part of their charm as a mom and pop diner. The food and service can't be beat.

A local favorite restaurant with very fair pricing. I’m giving it three stars because the waitresses aren’t always nice and you can tell the food is canned for the most part. I really wouldn’t expect the kitchen to be very clean. This restaurant definitely has its followers, but I’m not one of them.

Great meat & three old fashioned diner. Service was great and fast. Had the hamburger steak with onions & gravy, mashed potatoes, fried okra and cream corn.

One of my favorite places in the Tuscaloosa area. One of the top 5 places/memories of my college experience. Great place to meet old friends. You can count on the food to be good and taste just like it did 25 yrs ago.

After conducting a Google search we found this establishment. A fantastic location, charming inviting staff with prefabricated mediocre food.
For an appetizer I ordered the fried green tomatoes, sadly the heavy breading was thicker than the tomatoes were.
I ordered my main dish from a long list found on the Thursday specials, mine consisted of chicken and stuffing with cranberry sauce. Since my meal arrived tableside already mixed together with a spoonful of cranberry sauce on top, it truly closely resembled a plate of vomit accented with a dot of red stuff in the middle.
Needles to say, l only had a couple of bites before deciding it wasn't worth eating. The appearance alone was appetite killing.
While I'd suspect that NOTHING fresh or prepared from scratch comes out of this kitchen. It is clear that they lack any pride and have zero shame.
As the area directly in front of the register filled with people waiting to be seated, the angry old man running the cash register was yelling at people to bring their check to the front of the register.
I would not recommend eating here unless your starving, there's really no need to subject yourself to this place.

My friend and I went here for the first time. When you walk in, go to the left and enter a dining room full of benches. A waitress comes right away to take your order. They have daily specials. We both ordered the hamburger steak smothered with brown gravy and onions. I selected two sides. Sliced tomatoes and coleslaw. He ordered English pea salad and macaroni and cheese. I didn't know what that pea salad was. I had never heard of it. We were also offered cornbread and rolls. The food was great and the place was noisy and busy at 1:30 on a Friday. The benches sit lower than my knees, so it was hard for me to get up. My right knee hurt afterwards, since I have arthritis in it. I didn't think about taking pictures this time. Sorry!
