First time ever going. Staff were friendly. Food was mediocre. The kids didn’t complain too much about their food however my daughters chili cheese dog fell apart and looked burnt. My fiancé got a Philly cheese steak poboy. Steak has absolutely no flavor and was very chewy. The mashed potatoes were instant and terrible. My grilled chicken was pretty good. Might be back in the future. Undecided at this moment.

The food have been my favorite for years. Every time I’m in town I make sure I come here.

The shrimp poboy and fried pickles were good and the gumbo was very good. The mashed potatoes were kind of hard (my son tried to eat some with his fries and they wouldn’t go through it, the fork barely did) but my son enjoyed them regardless.
We had three different people serve at our table which is a great way to get things out on time. We did have to remind them multiple times to bring tartar sauce, a milkshake, etc.
The restaurant could use a good cleaning but it’s not disgusting or anything.
Overall I would definitely visit again to try something different and get more gumbo :)

First time at Big Time Diner with my family. We had the Fried Green Tomatoes & Onion Rings as appetizers. Fo our main I had the Blue plate special: Fried Fish, Mac & cheese, green beans, & fried okra. My husband had the Blue Plate Special: Chop steak with Mac & cheese, turnips, & green beans. We also tried the rice & beans( very good). Everything we ordered was very delicious. If we are even back in Mobile we will def stop by again!

Delicious fried green tomatoes! Everything was great, but the tomatoes were exceptionally good!

Passed by this place many times and always wanted to stop in, tonight we did! What a great restaurant. Fun 50's theme with 60's music playing. Manager and staff ready to share a smile and history of the diner. Food was fantastic. Old fashioned milkshakes delicious served in milkshake glasses and extra brought to the table in the silver mixing glasses just like years gone by. If you're in Mobile, this is a great treat!

My wife and I were roaming around and decided it was time for lunch. I had been hearing about Big Time Diner quite a bit lately so decided to give them a go. My expectations were probably a bit tainted by the fact that I’m a native New Yorker where diners are a bit of an experience. If your experiences are similar in reference to diners, then you may be disappointed in Big Time Diner. Don’t get me wrong, the experience was pleasant enough but the menu was considerably shorter than one would expect from a classic diner. The decor is typical classic diner but the one page lunch menu isn’t.
After being seated, I ordered a Cheeseburger and Fries and my wife ordered the Club Sandwich which also came with Fries. Our meals were good but not outstanding. Nothing wrong with that necessarily, just not worth considerable hype. Our waitress was attentive without over doing it, the servings large enough and prices reasonable. Overall, I would recommend Big Time Diner if you happen to be in the area and are in the mood for something that’s more than fast food but less than something that will take a while. The food is decent if not brag worthy. The same could be said for the overall experience.

My experience is that I've have better Po Boy sandwiches and burgers from other places. I didn't even eat the so called peach cobbler either. They were also stingy on the fries for what I paid. I'm new to this area and would prolly not come back as first times are a platform for impressions.
