Very delicious German cuisine in Huntsville! The staff was very nice in assuring we received our order in a timely manner. I thoroughly enjoyed the wine pairing with my Bratwurst, fried potatoes and Sauerkraut. We also tried the Wiener Schnitzel which comes with German potato salad and a side salad. The team originally forgot to serve the salad but was able to get it to us in timely manner after we reminded them. Overall delicious food and would love to eat here again!

So damn good, I came here twice during the two week visit in Huntsville. Great food, great beers, great service. According to my friend who brought me here, it was legit authentic. The dishes are fantastic and recommend their version of a chicken cordon bleu. Their Bach beers are fantastic as well.

One of our favorite Huntsville restaurants! We first visited about 8 years ago on a weekend trip. Came back for the second time today. We’re thrilled that our current experience lived up to the nostalgia of our fist one! Great service and food is fresh. Highly recommend.

Great food and exceptional service in a beautiful setting. We tried a variety of dishes and everything tasted delicious! I wish they had German chocolate cake but we enjoyed the Expresso cheesecake.

Service was prompt and the veal black forest schnitzel was outstanding, as was the German potato salad. So much flavor! Friendly staff. We cleaned our plates. Check 'em out yall.

Ahhh. Ye Old Heidelberg Cafe. What a treat!

We go annually after Space Camp drop off and what a great experience. Tasty food. Snausage platter is a savory treat.

The cucumber salad is refreshing.

Chicken Schnitzel was stupendous.

Can’t wait for next year. Watch out Heidelberg… we will be back!

Our server was Angel. She was fantastic! We are rather picky about our beer, and she was so patient and helpful! Chad was the chef and was happy to recommend dishes, answer questions and describe entrees. We loved the atmosphere, food, and service. As we say in the South, Angel and Chad are just "good people" and it shows. Their dedication to excellence and service can not be surpassed. Food is excellent. We spent several days in Germany on our anniversary, and had good food, but Heidelberg experience was great. Wish we did not live over two hours away.

This was our first time eating at this restaurant in a few years and we are glad we did.

The selection of German cuisine was very good. My dining companion had the pecan honey chicken. There was enough honey to give it flavor but not so much to overwhelm the flavor of the chicken. The dish was accompanied with German fried potatoes and also cooked perfectly. I tasted this dish and will probably order it next time we are here.

I ordered the glazed salmon with carrots and boiled potatoes. It was also very good. The potatoes were fully cooked and easy to cut as were the carrots. There was not a lot of seasoning on the vegetables which was perfect for my taste as I enjoy the flavor of the vegetables. I added butter to the potato—my usual habit—and was very happy with the result.

The desserts are up front and looked delectable. The chocolate cake looked perfect but we opted for the carrot cake. I never had carrot cake when I lived in Germany. If it was available and I passed it up, it was a mistake. It was a large piece and, as we were both full after a large lunch, we took it home and enjoyed the cake later in the day.

Service was very good. Our server had a few tables but worked hard, and was very efficient and friendly. She took the orders and were delivered exactly as ordered.

The decor is traditional German with a Bavarian flavor. The store has been at this location since 1989 and in business in Huntsville since 1972. The decor has not been changed in a while and looks somewhat dated but reflects images of Germany which is appropriate for the cuisine that is served.

There are limited wines available by the glass and a more varied selection available by the bottle.

Ol Heidelberg is well worth a visit when in Huntsville.
