Greeted properly when entering David's Catfish House. Was promptly seated in a booth. Our server was there very fast and took our drink order while my wife and I looked over the menu.
She was back to our table with our drinks just as we had come to a decision on our order. We both agreed to order the David's Seafood Platter. It didn't take maybe twenty minutes and our food came out piping hot. I mean "one Mississippi" hot. Man was this loaded with food! Now I'm not complaining at all! This is so rare for food to come out this hot, that I actually enjoyed not being able to just gobble it down so quickly. So the Catfish was properly cooked, being moist inside and done too. Not over or under done. The boiled shrimp was seasoned just right. Then there is the fried shrimp done to perfection as well as the fried oysters. Yes you heard that right, oysters! Yummmmm! The stuffed crab was one of the best I have ever had. Once again, not too done or under cooked. Just perfect. Service was very good. I could see that the young lady had plenty of tables to wait, but she made it a point to continually check on us and keep our southern sweet tea glasses full. Did not have any alcohol for lunch and the bill come out for two people at around $57. Not bad at all in 2023 for a seafood platter as large as it was!
I left feeling guilty not having tipped the cook. I'm telling you that person really deserved to get something for getting everything on that plate to perfection. And I mean the same for my wife's plate. She loved every bite of it! Thank you Dothan, David's Catfish House for a great experience.

As soon as we walked in it took forever to be seated seeing as there was no one even waiting on people to seat them. Finally they came wondering out and seated us but not before we had to wait so long my elderly grandmother had to sit down because she was feeling faint. The service was not good either. The girl waiting on us seemed to have her head in the clouds which was especially evident when 1) I had to ask for a knife for the steak I ordered because they had forgotten to give me one when they gave me my steak and 2) she completely forgot about the fact she had to even grab a knife because my father had to go to where they were working in the back and ask her YET AGAIN to bring out a knife so I could even eat my steak. (The only silverware given is a fork) The steak I received that I had ordered as medium came out COMPLETELY cooked, not even slightly pink. It tasted disgusting as well as the corn on the cob which had absolutely NO flavor even though there was butter and some sort of seasoning. They finally gave me a steak that tasted better and was cooked medium but it still tasted underwhelming and was insanely hard to chew. Overall this was an incredible underwhelming experience and I will not be visiting again.

Let's start of by saying the waitress could improve lots. Waited terribly long for orders and refills. Catfish was okay. Heavily breaded. Fries good. Burger burnt on outside raw inside. Shrimp was good. Coleslaw was sweet tasting and not a thick slaw as I like. Cheesy grits were excellent according to spouse. Was 8 of us at table but 3 on one check 5 on other. Automatic tip of 20% which was terrible for the service we received. Place was half packed at the most. Will not return!! Little on the pricey side.

We came across this place on our way to Florida. Excellent Food! We loved the sweet potato beignets! The fried catfish was wonderful. Our server, Kaylee P was awesome!!! We will definitely make this a repeat place again!

Our waitress was phenomenal! However, the food was not that great, especially for the prices! I had the blandest shrimp & grits I've ever tasted! The catfish was full of a gritty coating that didn't taste all that good. The side salad was great! My mom liked the cole slaw, but I did not care for it. The cinnamon hush puppies were extremely greasy, but the dip was nice.

Great seafood and absolutely the best service! The food (catfish sandwich and onion rings) was delicious. A delight in every bite. Roxanne was our server and she gave us 5 star service. Make sure you ask for her when you go! Definitely looking forward to my next visit!

Okay, folks, here we go again. Well, I was here to celebrate a birthday dinner. I got the seafood platter and it was very good. The catfish was just right, and the stuffed crab was really good, too. Everything that came on the platter was good, but those two were my favorite. Everyone who came to celebrate with us enjoyed their food for the most part. The snowcrab legs were good as well, and to top it all off, they had some very good steak folks, yes! you heard me, steak! Hell, my brother, let me try the steak, and it absolutely melted in my mouth, folk! All I'm saying people is that you have to go try it out for yourself, folks . And the beer off the tap is good too, ???? . Well, as usual, peeps, this is my opinion, and I suggest that you go get your own. Until next time, folks, I'm out.

First time at this location. It was an awful experience. Highly understaffed. Our waitress was inexperienced but was trying hard so we weren't critical on that point.

All of us got cheese grits and the were lukewarm and runny. However, the coleslaw was good.

In the future when we want David's Catfish, we will go to the Andalusia location.
