Beef and chicken shawarma kabobs were good, but could use a little more flavor and larger pieces of meat. The kabobs were much smaller than what I am used to elsewhere. The Israeli salad was a little soggy. Fries were mushy. Cucumber salad was good, though $6 seems a bit much for the amount of half a cucumber. Bread was very yummy. They had tzatziki sauce (if you want to call it that) in a squeeze bottle. Fresh tzatziki would have been better. Also, I’m surprised they don’t have garlic sauce.

Overall, it’s ok, but there may be better choices around. The service was mostly good.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND this Mediterranean restaurant. Extremely delicious, flavorful and amazing dishes. Their prices are very reasonable for the quality and amount of food for each dish. I’ve had Israeli dishes and Eli’s is the only closest to homemade. I love this restaurant.

One of my favorite places to stop in for a bite to eat when I travel to Birmingham. Eli and staff are always so kind and welcoming that you immediately feel like you are dining with family. My go to is always the Chicken Shawarma with half couscous and half rice with a side of hummus and it never disappoints. To me, being in Eli's is a religious experience, where I feel like I have such peace and can just relax from the stress of the world. I am able to take a break from the hustle and noise from my day to day profession and am able to be at rest with the Lord. Never once have I felt rushed or hurried once I finish my meal. I always want to stay so much longer than necessary just to stay in the presence of the Lord. Thank you to Eli and family for delivering a place that has brought me such comfort and peace.

Delicious and fresh food with a wide variety to choose from. Me and the family keep coming back to try different things on the menu and they never disappoint.

An absolute yum! I love the restaurant and the atmosphere. Their food was too good. The meat quality and the kabobs are really good. The platter with kofta and rica pilaf and Israeli couscous was extremely delicious. We started the meal with hummus and house baked pita. I loved the pita, which is fluffy and thick. So different from other store. And we ended with Turkish coffee, baklava and another typical dessert ( I forgot the name ) which was absolutely delicious one. The quantity and the quality of the food was really good, and it was not expensive as well. I definitely recommend this restaurant and I would go back again.

My recent visit to this restaurant left much to be desired. I ordered lentil soup and the Moroccan Fish. The food came out at a tepid temperature which set the tone and significantly impacted the overall dining experience. The meals tasted fairly bland, and the lack of depth in the flavors was disappointing. The attentive service was a positive point, yet it didn't compensate for the lack of culinary execution. I'm hopeful that this was a one-off issue and that there's room for improvement, so I might reconsider a return visit in the future.
