This is a real hidden gem! Passed by and had to stop. You wont be disappointed if you like history. All items are from the previous owners or local residents.

Kasilof is an old Alaskan community, and, for a tiny museum, they have some great displays - old buildings that have been relocated there, and historical items from a century or more - as well as items you may know well (if you are gray-haired like me). Stories of the people who lived there. The older gentleman who was there to meet and greet was fun, as well. No charge for the museum, but there is a donation jar (which the volunteer did not mention at all). Stop by and enjoy the history.

Like many museums along the Kenai it’s informal self guided system with a central building and other exhibits and buildings surrounding it has great charm and is a well made to impart the local history.

Very good self guided tour. Excellent signage that gives facts, primary source quotes, and well-selected historical images.

The main part of the museum was closed when we got there, but roaming around the cabins, and reading the information, was a great experience!
