A wonderful center that covers all the wildlife and history of the area. You can hike down to a slough and bishops beach too. It's maybe a 10 minute walk and ADA accessible.

Very informative and beautiful visitor center with lots of special programs. I was lucky enough to attend Watercolor Wednesday. While I hadn't used watercolors since grade school, the facilitator had many examples, techniques, and simply great ideas that everyone left with a beautiful memento... Even me! Such great staff - knowledgeable, courteous, and kind.

It's just one of those great interactive educational places for kids and believe me as an adult....I learned a lot too! There are a lot of buttons to push and a lot of sounds so the kids will enjoy it. Gets into the ecosystem and the history of the area. There's plenty of parking, no charge, no wait just walk right in. I can't review it for my 7-year-old granddaughter but I guarantee she would give it five stars. She had a blast! It's very near Bishop's beach and the tidal pools and I know they have tours that leave from there and do a walk. Didn't have time to take it but will next time.

I figured this place would be cool, but it's AWESOME! Everyone age 40 to age 1 had a great time. So much to do and see it kept everyone busy for over an hour. Very very kid friendly with films, coloring, Jr explorer program, buttons to push, critters to find.

What a great place to visit in Homer! Pretty cool for a free thing to do and a great place to learn about Marine birds on the Aleutian islands. Plus, Don And Janet, the volunteers on the day we went, were so helpful and answered our many questions! Janet even took us down near the marsh to see a moose that someone told her was there! Alas, it was not a moose but how nice of her to go out of her way to try and show us one! Highly recommend a stop here when you're in Homer!

Informative displays. Learned new things. Good pathway thru resting bird area to beach. Worth the visit

The museum offers lotta history about the local area, wildlife and indigenous people. Take the time to watch the movie as well. They do require masks with your supplied if you don’t have any while inside the building.
