My wife and I ate at Chair 5 for our first night in Girdwood. We got the crab cakes as an appetizer, I had the fish and chips, and my wife ordered the Alaskan wild game burger. Amy was our waitress and she did a wonderful job! She recommended both things we ordered and was very quick and polite. The crab cakes had a ton of flavor, however I feel for the price you should get three instead of two. The fish and chips were very good. I am not the biggest beer battered fan, but the batter had tons of flavor and was crispy. My wife's burger was very good and was flavorful. The atmosphere was very relaxed and comfortable. Overall Chair 5 is a very good place and we would go back!

I've never been disappointed by a pizza before, but this margherita pizza was insanely bad. We're pretty sure they took a frozen cheese pizza and put a single piece of cheese and tomato on each slice. And they also charge a 20% "service fee". Tipping agency is important. The prices werent too bad and the service from the waitress was good. Other food looked good and the fries from the other people in our group were good. Overall pretty bad. I'm usually not too critical but this warrants it

I really wanted to give 5 stars, but Sean dropped the ball a few times. So, let's get into this review!

Hands down, love the atmosphere! Great vibes, awesome things to admire on the wall. Some of the stain glass was phenomenal. 1 Star Earned.

Believe it or not, having a clean restroom means a lot to me and not just to some of the folks that read my reviews. 1 Star Earned for being a bar/hangout/restaurant restroom.

Chair 5 signature items are their deep-dish pizzas. The one I tried was the Thai Chicken. Dough was spot on, cheese burnt on the sides where it meets the pan still makes my mouth water. Delicious! 1 Star Earned.

A few staff members came up and talked with me. Everyone was smiling. Yup, 1 Star Earned!

That darn Star lost was due to me getting up for a refill and then again for a togo box, and then I just decided to get up to pay when I was ready.

So listen, don't give Sean a hard time. Who knows, bad days happen. Is that going to stop me from going back, hell no. Is it going to stop me from recommending it to everyone craving a deep-dish, hell no. Go here! Eat here! Drink here! If a guy named Sean serves you, tell him he is famous and tip well!

Great place, I'll be back.

Probably every other visit to Girdwood has a stop at Chair 5. If you want a good burger and/or delicious pizza while drinking a local Alaskan beer, this is the place!!

The atmosphere has great, old Alaskan pictures, maps, funny quotes and memorabilia. It’s casual and can be family friendly. They have two dining areas away from the bar area, one with large windows to enjoy lookin at the out of doors.

We always enjoy this place and for Girdwood find it to be a fair price!! If you ar win the area, you won’t be disappointed.

Halibut was in season and okay but expensive. I've had better but not from a restaurant. Soup was pretty good. Server was off their game and completely forgot my friend's order, clearly lied about forgetting, and generally took forever.

Stopped in to just have a drink and find out about Girwood. Bartender was not happy she was there, I think she smiled twice while we were there, once when another employee was talking to her and when she saw me watch her take a big of her lunch which was in front of under the bar. My recommendation is to have your bartender friendly to everyone and dress as if she had just rolled out of bed.

Tight parking and ok service. Food was good. They refused to split the bill for a party of 6. Food portions for pizza were good... The small is not much smaller than a medium pizza. A little pricey for the burgers. The Halibut sandwich was ok, I had it blackened but it was very dry tasting... not worth 18.50. They were short on staff so our server had trouble keeping up. I would try another place before coming back.

We loved the history we read about this restaurant online and decided to give it a try. For starters, the service of our waitress was excellent. She was very attentive and answered all of our questions patiently and kindly. We had four teenagers with us and I feel like that is why we were sat on the quieter side of the restaurant, which was nice. The kids were disappointed when we gave them all money to make jukebox selections because the sound is turned completely down on it and you cannot hear any of the selections you make. There is music in the restaurant though, it was just loud and primarily a base beat that gave more of a club vibe. Our 18 & 19 year old were disappointed that they were not allowed to play pool since the rules stated that after 5, no one under the age of 21 could use the pool table. The food was decent. The potatoes, salmon, and burger were all overcooked, but not inedible. A few of the potatoes were too black to be eaten, but the rest were okay. I really enjoyed the cajun shrimp pasta. The portion sizes were excellent. We were happy with the many menu choices; with our big family, it is nice to have a good variety for the pickier eaters.
