It's close to the downtown and provides a nice view of Cook inlet

Stopped by after this was pointed out during a trolley tour. It has the Captain Cook monument that overlooks Cook Inlet. It's a small area, but has good information about Captain Cook and his explorations. Provided a nice view of Cook Inlet.

Great views of Anchorage and the beach. Only stopped to see the park and views. Can see Denali on a clear day too.

Nice view. Small parking lot on the left. It is near the 49th State Brewing. Nice walk after a meal.

Popularly known as Captain Cook Monument. Great views of the mountain ranges and ocean.

I like this platform park. It's on a serious slope but the designers reinforced it with steel and sturdy wood to hold up Captain Cook statue and any visitors. The wooden platform turns a circular path for all people, including the elderly and the people confined to wheelchair mobility to access. The sunset is gorgeous over the Knik Arm and the mudflat from this perspective. A few hundred feet away are eateries and pubs. I recommend a visit.

Excellent place to go view a sunset, easy parking on Sunday don't know about other days. The flower pots were perfect to add some color.
