Randomly pulled off the highway to explore and happened upon this spot. It was early morning, and I pulled in just because it looked to be open. Very pleasant surprise! A little conglomerate of businesses including the Cafe, a farmers market, gem shop, gas station, and my personal favorite- The Pie Box. Behind all of this is a pleasant outdoor garden/ nature spot that is open for relaxing, walking the dog, and checking out a little steam and waterfall. The Pie Box has a seating area inside with large windows that open up to the outside. I imagine if I lived here I would enjoy a Pie breakfast and coffee too frequently. The bakers were busy and the place smelled amazing! Good selection of freshly made pies... too many to mention. Got a slice of peach which was delicious and not too sweet. Cool spot that is family oriented and a good spot to stretch your legs or just relax and have a treat.

How did I miss this place? I've driven by many, many times and always notice the sign for pie. I love pie. I think I have reminded myself many times that I should stop by there next time I'm passing through. I'm kicking myself for not stopping EVERY time I've passed through. The building was fantastic! So many things to look at. I loved the little Christmas area upstairs. We went to the cafe and ordered some pie. The server was so nice! We'd come back just for her. The pie was so good! I think we got a Tennessee Lemon and Strawberry Rhubarb. They were both fantastic. We also ordered some ice waters. We both commented that the ice water was some of the best water we've had in a long time. I saw the filtration system in the way to the bathroom and took a picture of it. I want one! Also, the bathroom... It was crazy! The urinals were beer kegs, there were license plates all over the walls and the sink faucets were some kind of Steampunk contraption. Pretty cool! On our way out, we noticed a little garden off to the side. We walked through and it just kept going. It's a whole event venue. There was so much space! there were multiple levels with drink stations and a waterfall and trees and plants everywhere. It was very impressive. There wasn't an event happening so we were just wandering around to look at stuff. We will definitely be back. We have like 20 more pie flavors to try.

Let me just preface this by saying that I am not a pie person. I don’t normally like fruit pie, or cream pie, I do enjoy a pumpkin or a sweet potato pie, but that’s normally the extent. My boyfriend and I stopped here after visiting Chilleens, because he was raving about the pie. When we went in there were quite a few pies on the menu, but not pumpkin or sweet potato (it was the middle of summer) so I went with apple. When I tell you that this was the best damn apple pie I’ve ever had in my life… holy… anytime we pass this place from now on, it is my mission to stop in and try a different pie. I feel like they make our how pie is supposed to be made. I’m definitely still not a pie person, unless it’s a rock springs pie.

This rating is on the general cafe, shop, pie, gas experience. A tourist trap. The gas was a 1.50 higher per gallon than the next city over.

The pie (for $8+ per slice with tax) was good, but definitely not the "world's best".

The bathrooms were dirty, so the fact they had a sign asking for people to leave reviews about their experience was additionally delusional. But here I am leaving a review.

The gift shop had a lot of cute things apart from the "US border patrol" caps. So inappropriate and unnecessary. Do better.

The only good thing I can say about my experience was that the staff was polite and helpful.

Rock Springs Café is a historic restaurant in Black Canyon City, Arizona, that has been serving homestyle cooking since 1918. It is known for its delicious pies, made from scratch using fresh ingredients. The café also has a wide variety of other dishes on the menu, including steaks, chicken, and sandwiches.

The restaurant is located in a charming old building with a rustic charm. There are two dining rooms, one with a fireplace and one with a view of the mountains. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the service is always excellent.

I've driven by Rock Springs Café many times before, but I never stopped. I always regret it, because the food is always delicious and the atmosphere is so welcoming. I finally decided to stop in one day, and I was not disappointed. I started with a slice of the pecan pie, which was absolutely amazing. The crust was flaky and buttery, and the filling was rich and flavorful. For my main course, I had the chicken fried steak, which was cooked perfectly and served with mashed potatoes and gravy. The vegetables were also fresh and delicious.

Overall, I had a wonderful dining experience at Rock Springs Café. The food was excellent, the service was great, and the atmosphere was charming. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious meal in a historic setting. I would definitely give it a 9 out of 10.

I would definitely recommend visiting Rock Springs Café during the farmers market.
The farmers market is held every Saturday from 8am to 12pm, and it is a great place to find fresh produce, locally made crafts, and other unique items. The café also has a booth at the farmers market, where you can buy pies and other pastries.

I'm so glad that I finally stopped at Rock Springs Café. It is a hidden gem in Arizona, and I'm sure I'll be back many times in the future.

Loved how historical this place is! We had dinner here, and the food was just ok. We were sat fairly quickly but waited a long time before having our order taken. When we were finally served, Linda's service was great. The pie was ok, I had the lemon meringue. If we lived local I would consider trying another pie but that's it.

GREAT PLACE. They have the most amazing pie ???? here. I have tried most all of them and have never been disappointed. They have a Cafe that serves lighter fair for lunch and early dinner. The other side has a larger dining area for dinner and busier nights there.
When you first walk in you will be greated with tables filled witth locally made BBQ sauces, hot sauces, honey, and/or hand crafted jams. There fresh made pies are stacked high right next door to the main building in the newly completed "Pie Den" they have an outdoor seating area for you to sit and take in the sites. They sell pie by the slice for those that need their fix right away. Outdoor spaces are well appointed and are ready for your next large gathering from corporate functions to family weddings just ask!!
