We found this awesome establishment after a recent police pursuit concluded nearby. After arriving, we were seated by Laura, our waitress, who DELIVERED outstanding customer service, she went above and beyond to ensure we were DELIGHTED and finally, she took OWNERSHIP of ensuring that we had one of the best dining experiences ever! Friends, please don’t miss out on this southern jewel and when you visit, please tell them you read my review!!!

Crab legs, salad bar and fried catfish were very good. Peel n eat shrimp were way overcooked. Very good value overall.

First time here, we will be back. The food was great and well cooked. The options for dessert were limited this time around for us so I am hoping to have better luck next time. The restaurant comes with a view of the river and looks like an old river boat. Kids loved it!

All you can eat buffet, staff was on top of keeping drinks filled. There was a line before entering but it moved quickly. I called in a same day reservation for a table of 4. No issues getting seated. I ordered crab legs which did take over 30 minutes to get but they were good. Very clean, friendly staff and great areas outside to take family pictures with good scenery.

Review update 1/6/2023
Always a good time at Dondies, or is it?
Friend Called in before 4:00 p.m. to advise that we would arrive around 5:30 pm, party of 3 and 1 in a wheelchair.
Arrived at 530 and was told that we didn't call.
When I said yes that we did, the attitude started, I was cut off and told that I didn't call.
When did customers who have been coming for over 20 years suddenly become liars and made to look bad in front of other customers?
I was floored!
I repeated myself and said yes we did call.""
She looks at paper and informs me, "No name, no #, so we didn't call.
At this point, I said we didn't drive here to argue with the front desk. We came to eat.
If it hadn't been under the circumstances we were there, I would have walked out and never returned.
(The lady in wheelchair just buried her husband Saturday, and we were taking her out)
I went outside to help my friend (who had called) with her mother and explained the confrontation.
When we went inside, I asked the same female if she would like to see the cellphone from where the call had been made from.
She informed me that my friends name was on the call-in list" No one knew where to put it, so it was at the top of the page.
Seriously?
The lady in the wheelchair wasn't happy and said she wished we hadn't stayed.

To top that off:
Several items on the buffet seemed to be overcooked tonight, and the hushpuppies should have never come out to be served. Completely burned.

I'm very disappointed in tonight's dinner.
Driving over an hour to eat for attitude at the door and not so pleasant food.

Fish is fresh with crunchy batter and mild flavour. Coleslaw with crunchy cabbage and mild dressing just right flavour. Green tomatoes pickles are outstanding. Wish there are oysters, my favourite morsel. ????

this place was a big disapointment to us all of the food on the buffet is cheap fried food that proablly comes out of s freezer bag , none of it is fresh made. way over priced for cheap pre battered stuff that you could get at one of the truckstops on the interstate for a much lower price At least they aparantly keep the oil at the right temp. the buffet price was $23.00
our waitress was young and a sweet kid, but not good at her job yet. maybe some day she will get better. the place was a cool ideal for a restarant but does not deliver ether on taste or original food. and it was a long drive for nothing for us. the view is nice but not spectaculer enough to warrant going back , so we wont be.
there are too many good restarants in Arkansas to waste time here.

1st Sunday of the month is Great, from 11:30 to 2:00, but well worth it. Nice atmosphere, a view of the river, good food, and nice waitresses. A full fish dinner buffet, with the trimmings. ????
