Great service. Blackened Mahi Mahi sandwich and crispy fries. Fried mushrooms. Raw oysters. Everything was brought quickly and hot!

Had the crab bites which tasted like deep fried crab cakes. Mac and cheese was good but not special and the ribeye steak sandwich. Hubs had the blackened snapper with steamed veggies and rice. He enjoyed it a lot.

Stopped here for lunch while traveling through the area. So glad we did! The good was great, the portions were good, and the service was friendly! Definitely recommend!

This is a nice hole-in-the-wall place for Troy. A locals hangout.
The food was good. I ordered the grilled shrimp with mixed veggies and white rice. I had hoped for more veggies than just broccoli and squash. The grilled shrimp had a nice kick. Good flavor. One in my party has the mahi mahi sandwich and LOVED it.
The service was ok. A little slow overall, but we could tell the girl was very busy during our visit, so we had nothing to complain about overall.
The atmosphere was quaint. The beer-themed decor was designed for its target audience, but was still family friendly.
We will surely be back. Good job Half Shell!

Been coming here since I was a kid. It's constantly been awesome. Drinks are better at the front bar more constantly but over all this is always an awesome place to go.

Edit: Drinks have been slipping. They're so so. It's been more inconsistent lately. I can order 2 margaritas or any mixed drink and it will come to the table a bit different each time. I would recommend each bartender learn the same recipes for over all consistency and familiarize with simple drinks like a Ranch Water.

We were visiting Troy and chose Half Shell Oyster Bar and Grill to eat dinner at. It was a very nice place to eat. Staff was exceptionally friendly. Food was hot and delicious! Fries were very crispy! Sadly they did not have a crab appetizer my mother wanted so I have been informed I have to take her back. Reminds me of something Guy Fieri would have visited on Diners Drive-Ins and Dives.

Good lunch stop on our way home. We had the Chef’s Salad and Shrimp Salad. The shrimp was really tasty. Definitely a local place. Great service at the bar.

Appetizers were good. Took some time to get our meals and when they came out the was a used lemon on one of the plates and a hair on another one. Waitress kept apologizing and said they've been having trouble with the kitchen staff. After all that we all decided we won't be going back
