I am normally satisfied with the food here, but this time I was very disappointed! I ordered half a smoked chicken. Get home and discover there is no breast (a thigh instead). I call them to ask about it and they say, “yeah, we don’t have any breasts right now.” WTH?!? Don’t you think you should mention that to the customer when they are ordering half a chicken?!?! My husband enjoyed the chicken, and I had a bowl of cereal for supper!! ???? I’ve never liked dark meat and, while they didn’t know my preference, they surely should have informed me it wasn’t an actual half chicken. I would have scratched the chicken and ordered something else.

Order a family pack of turkey this is what I get? 3/4 of a medium size cup. And they doused it in their spicy seasoning. Any other Whitt's I've ever gone to has the proper containers, filled to the max. Here, staff acts like your a nuisance for showing up. Signs on the window that say drive thru only.....what difference is it if I stand outside at a window or pull up to a different window in a car. Oh and they "prefer" cash. This Rogersville location is giving a bad name to what is one of the best fast food BBQ restaurants in the region. Didn't even bother taking this back because I'm sure they wouldn't give me my money back. And I heard a guy hollering it was the last of the turkey that I was getting. So basically they passed off their scraps to me for the price of what is supposed to feed a family of 3 or 4 people.

Got two lunch boxes pork sandwiches they give you a 2oz cup of beans and potato salad they didn’t have cookies that come in them and it was still over 20 dollars

My daughter drives straight to my house from Columbus, Ohio. About 9 hours. She has to have Whitts before the car is unpacked! Today, I'm taking 3 lbs of Pork to Columbus.

Order the pork BBQ sandwich with green beans and coleslaw. The barbecue was cold and very dry. The beans taste like they came out of a can and I absolutely hate their coleslaw. Went back and asked for a side of barbecue sauce and they gave me something to look like a bowl of vinegar it was then as water and tasted bad. Will not be visiting this place again. Definitely does not compared to Southern BBQ.

Update:
My first post was 3 years back. In July 2022, I was back at Joe Wheeler and being the 4th of July, I wanted BBQ. So we went back to Whitts. Their Rib plate was the burnt part that had been cut off and thrown on a plate. No Ribs at all. The cole slaw was soured and nasty. BBQ was dry and that night I got so sick, I puked till blood ran out of my nose. Food poisoned for sure. If I could give a negative rating, I would. State of Alabama needs to shut this place down and get a real BBQ place in there.

1. Barbecue was good... sauce was watery, no flavor.
2. Cole slaw made my girlfriend vomit, I couldn't handle it either, think they spilled vinegar in it or pickle juice...
3. Baked beans are just "Bush's Best" canned baked beans I think.
4. Staff not friendly to us, talked to the locals though....
5. "Jack's" is just across the road, that will be your better choice I think.
