I decided to go grab a to go plate and instead dining inside… Lol! Food is fresh and the dining room is nice! I enjoyed my meal! I’ll definitely be back.

Hubby and I went to Martha's Place after church today. Based on a previous experience, I was really looking forward to good service and a good meal. Unfortunately, I was disappointed, with emphasis on the service. The original server approached our table with an attitude.

First, she never identified herself. She came to our table and said, what would you like to drink, with an attitude of you guys are bothering me. I asked her if they had real lemonade. She then started staring at me. So, we had a about a thirty-second window of us just staring at each other. She then replied, we squeeze lemons to make our lemonade. I started thinking to myself what is really going on?????????

Second, she returned with our lemonades and placed them on the table with an attitude and walked away. I then told my hubby there is no way we were going to drink them because I was afraid what she may have done to them.

Finally, I went and informed the cashier of what transpired and she said she would take care of it. We got another server, Jennifer, who was awesome. However, the experience with the initial server was a bummer. The food was just average tasting.

I won't say I will never return to Martha's Place, but if I had a choice, it would be the last resort where we dine.

My fellow reviewers, we don't pay our money to people to treat us like we are doing them a favor.

I think the price was great for a buffet. The choices were limited. Either fried chicken, baked chicken or beef n gravy. That why I gave 4 stars. The food was good. The fried chicken was a little greasy for me. The Mac and cheese was very good and green beans. They had gloves for everyone to use at the buffet. Which I really appreciated.

The owner Martha is amazing. Our meal was delicious. The fried catfish and the banana pudding were my top two! our book club was there discussing Martha's book Finding Martha's Place. Thank you for great food and sharing your story.

Great meal! That salad bar was my fav. I haven’t been to a buffet since covid, and I honestly was skeptical but they have a nice and clean system set up and it’s well enforced! Baked chicken was a bit dry but the fried chicken was very tasty. Very sweet staff and friendly customer service.

First of all, let’s talk about how clean it is here during a pandemic. This place is super sterile. It felt safe to be at a buffet. There were so many choices. I put a little bit of everything on my plate.

Upon entering the restaurant I was not greeted, we actually had a stare off. The cashier did not say a word not even a smile. She seemed annoyed to even render service. After collecting the monies for the meals, she didn’t utter a word still. No thank you, smile etc. Attitude was horrible and deplorable. I frequent the restaurant often and have experienced similar situations with the regular cashier. This type of employee should not operate in a front house position, dealing with customers. This type of service detours business.

The food selection was very sparce, a mere miniscule fraction of the food offered at nearby Fried ???? Buffet & Golden Corral, but priced the same... They were not keeping the food stocked, I encountered empty bins after paying $30.00+ for myself and senior aged Mother. I was literally stunned to realize how little food they actually had on their buffet. To make matters worse, they brought out a big bin of greatly undercooked Mac &cheese...the top layer appeared cooked but when you dug into it with serving ???? you encountered a sluice of ???? and milk... totally liquid. That is a cocktail for food poisoning which is very dangerous, especially to the legions of senior citizens that faithfully patronize this dining spot. I also expected a variety of homemade desserts such as pound cake, sweet ???? pie, and peach cobbler but the only thing offered was an unappetizing faux ???? pudding and the type of pre-made cake squares served at Chinese buffets. It had been approx 6-8 yrs since I'd last tried this spot, and it was disappointing then. I won't make this mistake a 3rd time. ????
