It's not everyday that I get to hit up a restaurant in Alabama, even rarer that I come to a small spot like Cooter Brown's in Jacksonville. I was told that their ribs were "crazytown tender" and... this person was right.

I had their specialty ribs, the Bomar Style, half dry and half wet. I definitely prefer the wet MORE, but there's so much flavor in both types. The ribs are fall off-the-bone delicious and absolutely decadent, I had their hushpuppies as an appetizer; WOW. Simply, wow. They know what they're doing here.

My companion and myself enjoyed a drink at the bar while waiting on our food pickup and while they didn't have what we were looking for, they were very accommodating in what substitutions we could use to recreate the drink we wanted (Irish Car Bomb).

Gives me another reason to come to Jacksonville, apart from it's amazing people. Don't sleep on this place, y'all!

I like sitting in the bar area for the roadhouse feel of the place. The menu is simple and the food is good. If the children are not hungry for ribs, order hamburgers and chicken tenders.

I came to Dive land to Scuba Dive and I am lucky I found this place. Great food and super friendly servers (the server Carson B from California is a sweetheart). This place is a gold star Jacksonville staple! Get the Jalapeno Jelly burger.

I travel up and down the eastern seaboard which requires me to often eat out on the road. I usually eat to live; tonight, I lived to eat!! I found Cooter's online and thought I'd give it a try. This is a gem off the beaten path. Not much to look at on the outside but what is inside is worth the trip. The order was actually ready faster than promised (they text you to let you know it's ready). I ordered the half-rack of dry rub ribs (Wednesday night special), collard greens, and beans. The amount of food was a pleasant surprise; more than I was expecting. The meat on the ribs fell off the bone. The collards had a hint of sweetness (not too much) so I was glad I didn't add my normal vinegar. The beans were a little disappointing by good. I was expecting more of a smoke taste. The price for the amount of food I got was well worth it. I WILL DEFINITELY RETURN when back in the area and would highly recommend this restaurant!

I took my oldest and youngest daughters for afternoon meal. It wasn't crowded due to the time so sitting was easy.
The food was delicious and more than enough to eat
Our server Alex was great! She insured we were good our entire time and is very personally not like we were just another table to tend to.
One thing about the menu; if you kid wants chicken nuggets and fries like my 6 year old there's only a regular plate but the take home plate was just as good ???? ✌️????

The salad I had was very good and fresh. Our waiter was great and very attentive. My only problem was it was warm to the point of being uncomfortable in the place. Not sure what was going on but other than that I loved the place.

Absolutely a local favorite! Everyone knows of this little shack! Get here early on rib night! They do not have many seats available and there really isn’t any decent place to wait either. They are known for their ribs! I’ve eaten here several times over the past 6 years. Always the ribs. Always wet. Always spicy. But I decide to switch it up this time. I went with the BBQ and two sides. I was not disappointed. The beer selection here is decent as well. Everyone I’ve brought here has not been disappointed. I would recommend this place, and I will absolutely be back. You can also buy bottles of their sauce if interested. I usually buy one or two when I’m in town.
