We stopped by here for lunch one day. Folks, I’ve been bbq’ing for 40 years and Pitmaster Jamie has got it down! I saw pictures of his smokers several months ago and knew I had to make the trip at some point in time.
The Alabama Rib Shack is a bit out of the way but definitely worth the trip! Super friendly service and some of the best Q ever. Folks, they also cater.
I had a combo plate with St. Louis ribs and jerk chicken wow! We also had the pulled pork, tender and tasty. Our sides were collards and mac and cheese. Both well seasoned and delicious.

We will definitely be returning.

My experience at the Alabama Rib Shack is always a good experience. The food is delicious, seasoned to perfection. The service is exceptional and the atmosphere is always inviting. Honestly they have some of the best BBQ that I have ever tasted. Try it. You won't be disappointed.

Super friendly staff. Your not gonna find Que and sides like this often. A must try as all the bbq served has amazing flavor and smokeyness. Also had the beef short rib special ????????????.

Absolutely one the best BBQ restaurants I've been to in Alabama!! The restaurant is located in Gainesville, AL, one of rich history and this BBQ restaurant fits right in! All the food we had was absolutely delicious! I had the St Louis rib and 1/4 chicken plate with the best collard greens and cole slaw as a side. My wife had a BBQ pulled pork plate with Cole slaw, potato salad and baked beans. If they have strawberry shortcake, definitely get it! My wife got it and i tried it and it was phenomenal, the cake is lemon ppmd cake which makes it even more stunning!! The staff are super friendly and always making sure you're enjoying your meal. The restaurant atmosphere makes you feel like you're at home and has a very homey/hunting cabin feel to it. The owner Jamie Mitchell was super friendly and came out to make sure we were enjoying everything. If you're looking for an excellent BBQ restaurant with great service and great atmosphere, look no further than Alabama Rib Shack in Gainesville, AL! We will definitely be back soon!

We have been passing by since they started building this place but it's never open when we go by. Finally today we made a point of going for lunch and man have we been missing out. Everything was amazing from food to staff. We got the Big Sampler which is all the meats plus 2 sides. We added 2 more sides because we wanted to try it all. Slaw, potato salad, baked beans and collard greens all amazing! Ribs and chicken mouth watering even the pig tail which I wasn't sure about was great! This will be our regular stop from now on everything we pass.

Best BBQ I've had in a long time. The sides were amazing as well. Got to try the greens and yams. Ribs and jerk chicken are delicious. Drinks are great . Service was great. Enjoyed talking to the owner and his staff. Atmosphere was perfect. This guy has it Going on. Worth the drive go get some. Will be back.

AMAZING. I've never walked into a venue and instantly fell in love with everything about it. The Pitmaster Jamie Mitchell greeted us at the door with the biggest most welcoming smile. I knew we were in the right place. I would recommend something on the menu but I'm just going to recommend, "the menu."
