Probably one of the best all around restaurant meals I've been fortunate enough to have. The food is homemade and amazing! I got a split plate with ribs, catfish, Mac n cheese and collards. Pork ribs with a tasty mustard based sauce are in a league of their own. Crystal will make you feel like family on your first time there and will take care of any of your needs. If you're in the area and want a home cooked meal and where you're treated more than just a number then Thelma's kitchen is where you need to be!

My family swears this is one of the best places around. The ribs, pork chops, stuffing, catfish, collard greens, etc. We have only ever stopped as we go through town. I personally have too many food allergies to eat here and I wouldn’t recommend it for someone with a gluten allergy. So I am reviewing on behalf of the rest of my family.

Down home southern cooking. Pick your meats and sides!
The BBQ ribs were smoky and good, catfish flakey and clean. Veggie and macaroni cheese needed more seasoning, but not too bad.

Thelma is a cafeteria style restaurant that has excellent, fresh, tasty food. I had the ribs and neck bones along with two sides my friend got vegetarian sides of mac and cheese, cabbage, green beans and greens. The waiter explained how everything works and kept the line moving. She also kept our glasses full and gave us drinks to go.

Omg. This place is ????????????. I got the split plate with fried catfish and the famous ribs, Mac & cheese, and black-eyed peas. And cornbread. Everything was delicious but that rib sauce was unbelievably good. And the service was 12/10. Crystal took great care of us! Highly recommend.

Wow! What a great find. There we were, on our merry little way to Florida and we started getting hungry. Of course, then comes the same tale as old as time. “Where do you wanna stop?” … “I don’t know, where do you wanna stop??” The vicious cycle can go on for eternity. There was no end in sight. My family was at wits end, with the endless discussion of lunch on the road.

But then, seemingly out of nowhere, my beautiful amazing wonderful mother says “What about Thelma’s? Honey, can you make this turn?” And boy did we make that turn. The instant we parked, we could smell the tantalizing aroma wafting from the establishment. This was going to be good.

Upon walking in, we were greeting by a kind gentleman who showed us the way to the line. The superstar of the day, Krystal, explained to us how the plates work, took our drink orders, and then proceeded to wow us every step of the way with her charming personality. Krystal made us feel at home and like we were one of the regulars with her hospitality.

Now, here is what you really want to know. The food. Oh my gosh. Incredible. The ribs were fantastic (not to mention the SAUCE), the sides were amazing, and the cornbread was warm and just like you want cornbread to taste. This restaurant was the find of the century, ladies and gentleman. This is what you want when you wanna get soul food. This is the spot to be.

You will quite literally not regret the amazing experience of dining at Thelma’s.

This was our first time stopping at Thelma’s traveling home from the beach, but it will not be our last! A+ service. The chicken and ribs were great but my two sides were so good I wish I would’ve bypassed meat and went with a couple other sides too. The cabbage looked amazing. Can’t wait to stop next time we drive through.

Stopped by this place for the first time and to our surprise it was so good. The service was great. Friendly people, very clean restrooms and reasonable prices.
