By far my least preferred DG store in the area. Maybe it's the area, maybe it's the surrounding businesses, or maybe it's because the store sits off the road the way it does, I can't put my finger on it. But, to me it's like the store itself that makes this place just seem run down compared to the other ones locally. It seems most likely to be that it's an older design for their store.

This is one of several Dollar Generals in Etowah County. It provides a super convenient place for people living near downtown Attalla to grab a few groceries, snacks, and essentials. If you're passing through Attalla on US-11 on your way to Gadsden or Boaz, you'll pass right by this DG.

If they would get someone to put stuff out for the Saturday sale then I would give a better rating. Every Saturday that you get 5bucks off of 25, you can't find anything you need. It's all still in boxes on the floor. Sad.

one of the best Dollar General stores I have ever been in. definitely the cleanest bathroom of any Dollar General stores I have ever been in.
better organized than most, and no containers or carts blocking any of the isles.

Check the tags at the bottom of each shelve. It is very misleading, causes time at the register for the cashier having to go look and search for a tag & bar code number to see a customer isn't lying. Happens over & over and it doesnt make me mad bc I understand there is a lot of merchandise so I expect it every time I go but other customers do not and they are in a hurry. It's not just me, they put Saturday sales merchandise out on Friday evening & if a customer isnt a usual customer they expect the price in the tag. I've calmed a lot of customers down bc of this. So much more but, not gonna get into all of it. Team Leaders shouldn't hire their entire Family members. This is a place of employment NOT A FAMILY REUNION OR A PLACE TO BABYSIT YOUR YOUNG CHILDREN.

I normally always go to this Dollar General because it's close to my home. The last three or four times I've been in there the isle's are cluttered with merchandise on carts ready to be put out and they block the aisles & shelves, you can't get the merchandise that you need. This visit was particularly worse there were probably five maybe eight merchandise carts blocking the isle's that had product needing to be put out. There were two employees working, the line was backed up 10 people or more an
and the two employees were working as hard as they could to get them checked out as soon as possible. The two employees were doing a great job getting the customers checked out quickly and that is their number one priority is to take care of the customer but I don't know what it's going to take to get this company to understand you need more people working. You need two people at all times ready to run the register if needed while you've got one or two people to put out merchandise. The majority of the shelves in the store was empty, there were things I needed that may have been on some of the merchandising cart's but because the two employees were so busy checking customers out they didn't have time to put the stock out so I had to go to another competitive store to get what I needed. I've worked in retail on and off most of my life I know what it's like I know you have certain amount of hours each store is given for employees and for your payroll but this is ridiculous! First of all you don't pay your employees enough with all the expectations you expect out of them because one person can only do so much. This happened in every retail store I have ever worked in. Your expected to do a job that takes two people and still get your merchandise out and everything else that needs to be done but your told the customer comes first so when you're trying to help a customer whether it takes 10, 15, or 30 minutes to assist a customer that time takes away from everything else your expected to do during your shift. And then the manager gets chewed out because the big boss comes in wants to know why this or that hasn't been done. Every time I go in one of your stores there's always a line backed up most of the time, and only one cashier and one person on the floor and that person has to stop what they're doing and come help check out the customers because they stand there and they gripe and they complain but if they've never worked in retail they don't understand. I do, it's not the employees fault they don't have enough help. Wake up and realize that these people that are working for you are human beings trying to make a living to take care of their families. if you're not going to listen to your employees then you're not going to listen to your customers because I know I've sent in many complaints and comments and apparently they're not being read or taken seriously if they are. But I guess as long as the owners and the stockholders are making money they don't really care. Like I've said before you've got to be making money because you're opening stores within miles of each other. If your company and whoever the big bosses are and stockholders would just remember where they came from if they did come from the beginning as a cashier or whatever and what it was like they should appreciate the people that work for them and I know your stores have big turnovers because every time I go in one there's always different people. Or they've had to move people around to other stores because you don't have enough employees. Don't you think that's a sign that there's a problem somewhere? You need to think about it.
