On my birthday, we stopped in McGhee to use restrooms and get food. The staff was incredibly hospitable and nice. I could taste the smokiness through the tangy bbq sauce which married the sliced brisket very nicely. Food was extraordinary. The atmosphere was welcoming. We sat at the bar area since the dining area was packed. Only waited like ten minutes for the food which was fast for bbq. They missed my order cue by giving me beans instead of the ordered fries but the staff remedied right away. I would stop by on the way back.

Wonderful experience! Matt the chef was great! We got the voodoo nachos and BBQ baked potato, but asked to substitute the chips on the nachos for sweet potato fries. It turned out perfect! I highly recommend stopping by here!

What a surprise this place was. Driving from misssissippi to northwest Arkansas we needed to stop and eat and spotted this place from the road.

The place was large, clean and well arranged. We were seated promptly at a booth, and our waiter was at our table within a couple minutes.

We ordered the barbecue porkrinds and frog legs for an appetizer and those were great. Then we ordered a regular hamburger and brisket and I have to say the brisket was amazing. Best barbecue place I’ve ever been to in Arkansas hands-down.

We got the strawberry cake and banana pudding to go. They make their own desserts which I appreciate. The desserts were just ok. Didn’t like the temperature they were kept at could have been colder. I did eat mine as soon as we were in the car on the road again.

I ordered the sliced brisket sandwich and baked beans. It was really good! It took very little time for the food to come out of the kitchen. I was so glad they had unsweet iced tea.

Hoots is one of the finest restaurants in Arkansas. In fact, I would put it up against any restaurant in America. They have newly remodeled facilities that are constantly being updated. However, you get the experience of stepping back in time 50 years with nostalgic wall made of antique doors and ceiling made from aluminum roofing. The decorations take you back to earlier times such as a 1 row open cab cotton picker as you enter the restaurant. The food is prepared quickly and all ingredients are fresh and delicious. Service is 5 star with your every need or desire is promptly fullfiled. There is a bar with large flat screen TV to keep you up-to-date on the big game. Large room for parties is available, please check me on that. Lastly, the desserts are the best cakes I have ever had. I recommend the Italian Cream Cake. Affordable for the quality of dining experience.

First let me start off by saying the BBQ and sides, on the whole, are THE BEST I’ve ever eaten ANYWHERE and I’ve traveled the whole country sampling many styles and meats across the many southern states. I think the pulled pork at Hoot’s steals the show though and I especially love their take on Carolina style sauce—it is phenomenal. The traditional sauce (sweet and Smokey) is also excellent. They have excellent portion sizes and the prices are reasonable. The service is more than commendable as well; my wife forgot her purse on the back of her chair as we were traveling through on vacation. She realized this a hour down the road but we called And the employee stated that it had been turned in. We drove an hour back to find all of her cash, phone, cards, etc still in it. One of the young table clearers had found it and gave it to the manager. They had placed it in the back office for us. You don’t find this kind of honesty often these days. This was my 3rd time in 10 years to eat at Hoot’s since we live 4 hours away but I promise I’ll be back every time I’m sitting striking distance! Also, check out their dessert menu—I had the banana pudding and it was decadent and delicious!

This place is a must stop. Really good brisket, not thin sliced beef. Chicken is moist and has a great smoke flavor. Ribs were a little tough but had good seasonings and great flavor. Baked beans were top notch and coleslaw was above average. Took a picture of the desserts, because they looked so good, but didn't try anything. Worth the drive.
