Our experience was nearly 100% perfect! The food was so good and fresh and our waitress was fantastic very friendly, kept our drinks filled.. the only negative I will say is the bean bar was slightly messy due to customers spilling bean juice.. we had a larger group, several of us got dirty bean bowls that had dried up bean juice inside the bowl so it wasn't due to customers spilling bean juice.

We were hungry tourists hoping we had made a good choice, and we did! It started with a friendly greeting from the staff. Then a basket of yummy hush puppies was brought to our table. We ordered grilled fish plate and were directed to the bean bar! Don't miss the bean bar. Slow cooked pinto beans with sides of picked green tomatoes, a yummy first for me, Cole slaw, and red onions. I could have stopped there. The meal was good and the desserts very tempting. Ordered those to go!

We saw this restaurant as we were driving into town, just doing some sight-seeing. The staff was great and attentive. We enjoyed the fried catfish but the biggest surprise was the hush puppies.. Never had such a sweet and soft hush puppy and they were nice and golden, not overcooked.

The food is great here, but the service is just terrible. We weren't greeted at all by the server. After waiting for 7 minutes while watching her saunter back and forth, she finally growled an angry "I'll get to you in a minute". Another 5 minutes went by before she took our drink order. Still no greeting or smile. Things only got worse. The server had some sort of screaming fit in the back and we never saw her again.
It is an insane way to do business.
It is an insane way to work for tips.

We had a friend visiting us from California so we went to have dinner at Mack's Fish House. We we greeted with a smile as soon as we walked in the door. Being Father's day weekend we expected a long wait but were quite surprised when we were seated immediately even though it was 5:30pm.

We ordered the fried catfish which came with a baked potato, coleslaw, beans, and hush puppies.

Our waitress Lindsey was very sweet and efficient. The food was served quickly and the meals really delivered! The catfish was really good, the coleslaw was tasty and the beans were so yummy!

It was our first time eating there and we highly recommend Mack's Fish House. We will definitely be back.

This is how a catfish dinner should be. It has a "bean" bar where you can get all-you-want beans, cole slaw, onion, green tomato relish. They also bring you a basket of hush puppies. A four piece dinner with a tip will set you back about $25 and worth it. Get there early, they get full quick.

Another group was seated before us. It was a 10 minute wait before our drink order was taken. There were no hush puppies for the first half of our meal. My child spilled a drink. I asked for help. It took 5 minutes to get help. In that time I asked for a towel to clean it myself. The bus boy was excellent. We did tip him generously. He was fast and kind but the rest of our dining experience was very poor.
