This is a great museam packed with all kinds of local history. The staff are very friendly and will answer any questions you might have. You could easily spend 4 hours here if you read everything but you can get a good feel of the place in an hour or two. The art exhibit is really nice as well.

Since I was showing property in the area, we stayed in Calico Rock just over the hill from Main Street. I’m glad we checked this museum out. I figured it would like a lot of small town museums, small…boring…not very creative but we were pleasantly surprised the information, artifacts, displays, etc were very tastefully and creatively displayed. I enjoyed each one of the scenes. I liked that the local artisans work (within 50 miles) are on display for sale. It’s great to support them by purchasing their products. Downstairs has some fun activities for the kids to do. Did I mention it’s free? Be sure to sign their guest book so they are able to continue to receive their grants! Great job Calico Rock! There is a relocation guide at the end of my photos here if you are new to Calico Rock. Save it and use it!

The museum was closed when I visited so I will share pics of the area. Most interesting to me is the stone architecture. The Trimble house and Ghost Town well documented. Curious place.

This was an amazing little treasure to find on our move across the country. So many little nooks with displays and information. Amazing even for my preschoolers! History came to life for all of us, so much more imaginable.
Also the interactive science section was well-loved by the kids.
Upstairs, beautiful local artwork is displayed as well as possible to purchase.
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff - there is no admission fee but be prepared to give a donation!

Its a small town with a large amount of pride in their history and a drive to preserve history, culture thru the store in the museum with local gifts for everyone and their amazing town..... museum to me was the best one I have experienced..... keep up the good work.

A enjoyable interactive museum on the history of the town and community . A large space !! Very well laid out ..

Didn't even know the Historical section existed over the bridge . . .so cool to ride through this town's history. Calico Rock is so unique. LOVE THE OLD BUILDINGS!
