Went and had mean pig last night. Such a disappointment.

Let's start with the good. Meat was cooked perfectly and the blackberry cobbler was good.

Now you may ask if it was cooked well how could it be bad? It comes down to the bbq sauce. The sweet tasted like vinegar and the medium tasted like ketchup. Since they douse the sandwichs in the sauce it killed the sandwich. I have a feeling the slaw was good but it was buried under so much vinegar tasting sauce I couldn't really get a bead on it. Went with the dry rub on the ribs and I was so disappointed. These ribs are cooked perfectly but the dry rub was burning my lips. I am assuming it was way too much cayenne. It kills the ribs when your concentration on your face burning.

I will say the staff is super friendly. The problems I report are fixable. I mean they have the hard part down, but that sauce. My lord it wasn't good. I dont know if I just got a badly made batch but it really takes you out of the meal.

It’s hard for me to overstate how much I absolutely love The Mean Pig BBQ. Their Smoked Frito Pie is my favorite meal…as in favorite thing to eat on the planet. I love it. Each time we eat here my wife makes me ask what cobbler they have. Regardless of what it is, if it isn’t already sold out, we’re ordering it too.

Buddy and his staff are wonderful people that do a fantastic job running their small business. They quietly also do so much for our community.

Do yourself a favor and eat at The Mean Pig BBQ, and don’t be surprised when it becomes a weekly occurrence!

Stopped in while waiting for tires down at Kirks tire service, they recommended and we were not disappointed, we ordered the sampler platters and the hot sauce.. perfect heat and sweet balance. All was good and we got the to go boxes since we new we would have left overs, only wish we had more ribs so we could've taken some home.

It was good. I liked the food. If you know what you want, this is the place for you. There are no hostesses. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. Very fast food-ish. I expected to be waited on and served. But, can't complain about the food. It was good.

I had the jumbo beef sandwich and it was so disappointing. The meat had nearly no flavor on its own, almost like it was cooked in a crockpot, not smoked. The medium sauce was not good either. The only bright spot was the lady working the drive thru, she was very friendly. Do yourself a favor and try a different BBQ restaurant nearby.

It's very nice local BBQ restaurant!
I recommend!

I first visited this restaurant with my family. I went there at 7pm but it wasn't crowded on that day. There is a pork bench in front of the store, and there are a few tables and chairs that can be eaten outside. It felt warm to eat outside in the warm season. Enter the shop and there is a counter on the left side. There is a menu at the top. I ordered a rib this day. You can also choose the side menu, I ordered the beans. The rib ordered spicy taste and the rib sauce was sweet. This combination is very delicious. The beans have a solid bean shape, so you can enjoy the texture and flavor. Unfortunately, the ribs were cold, so I wanted to eat freshly baked.

But people are very friendly and helpful!

私は初めて家族とこのレストランに訪れた。夕方7時に行ったがこの日は混んでいなかった。お店の前には豚のベンチがあったり、外で食べられるようにテーブルと椅子も少しだけ置いてある。それは暖か季節に外で食べると良いと感じた。お店の中に入り、左手側にカウンターがある。上部にメニューがある。私はこの日はリブを注文した。サイドメニューも選ぶことができ、私はビーンズを注文。リブはspicyな味をオーダーし、リブ用のソースはsweetを選んだ。この組み合わせは非常に美味しい。ビーンズは豆の形がしっかり残っているので食感と風味良く味わうことが出来る。リブは残念ながら冷めていたので、私は焼き立てを食べたかった。

Mean Pig hit a home run! The food was great as always, and the staff is 2nd to none. If you’re looking for great BBQ in a family friendly atmosphere this is the place!

My family was so excited to try some southern BBQ for the first time. However, we were so disappointed with the food. We ordered ribs, 1lb or beef brisket, 1lb of pork, cole slaw, potato salad, and beans. The meats had absolutely no flavor, even after adding the bbq sauce I couldn’t finish eating my sandwich. The potato salad, and cole slaw, and beans were just “ok”. The only thing everyone enjoyed was the ribs because they were tender. The staff was nice. Needless to say never going there again. I hope all southern bbq is not as bad as this.
