Delicious homemade food with hometown hospitality. Definitely try the Reuben sandwich. Served 'philly cheese steak style' with home-made bread making an excellent variation. 7 layer chocolate cake was perfect finish.

I was looking for a traveling executive chef for a really important business meeting at work, when I reached out to Troy, I couldn't have hoped for things to go better than they did! He was very responsive and helpful! Him, his fiancé, and their staff at the Talk of the Town are amazing and went above and beyond to provide great food for an important meeting.

I'm saddened to even post anything negative. ????
The food quality was not good. It was delicious the first time we ever went. But not now. Was so disappointed.
However, the waitresses and staff are the sweetest people ever!!! It felt like we were all one big family.
I hope things pick up for Troy's. They used to be so tasty.
Blessings!

What a terrific surprise! The food was delicious and the folks couldn't have been friendlier! (They even brought us a sample of their French Toast - which was amazing! -even though we were just buying a burger to split for dinner). BTW, their burgers are amazing and huge! Everything was fresh and full of flavor. It is a simple place, but comfortable and clean. It is also right acr6from the historic Winston County Jail and only about 5 minutes from the (awesome!) Natural Bridge trail in the National Forest. (Both are FREE and fun local points of interest.) ...They also have breakfast, pizza and tons more on their menu - and everything looked terrific (as we watched others smiling with delight atound us). We will be back next time we come to Smith Lake for certain! (Sorry, our food looked so good that we forgot to take a picture before we ate it.)

When we first tried the restaurant almost a year ago the food and service were great. Over the last six months it has gone downhill. The service was slow, two tables that came in after us received food first. The food was ok but not great, I got a vegetable plate and the baked potato was cold. My husband ordered chicken tenders and french fries. The chicken was barely warm and the french fries were cold and soggy.

As always, the food was great. Service was a bit slow today, and the credit card broke and left us in a lurch.

Takes a while to cook your food but that’s how you know it’s not been sitting under a heat lamp for an hour. Deliciousness

We ordered fish plate and shrimp plate, waitress never told us it was all you could eat fish, chicken or gizzards, I just over heard the folks behind us being told. Got our food and my baked potato was not warm enough to melt the butter. Waitress came back once, shortly after our meal was delivered to us by Lisa( not the original waitress) and asked us if we were good. Never came back after that. I eat a portion of my meal without a drink, even though I put my glass near the outside edge of our table, finally my husband waved her down and asked for him a drink to go, and by this time I was done with my meal and didn't want one. But the lady who delivered our meal was very friendly and sweet. I should add that the restaurant was not busy, or I would have understood.
