Spectacular clear day to visit. The views were amazing. The self guided tour was worth taking. We were there about 2 hours. Fun to watch the para-gliding. There was a foot race taking place. Lots of people but not too crowded.

This place used to be really great. It's now a tourist trap. It's still has that feel of something old and special but lacking in that old authenticity. It's been commercialized but at least it isn't $20 a person. It was a beautiful sunny day which was great. A lot of paved trails and plenty of dirt ones you can get off of. If you go up there your not going to be disappointed at all. Will I go back? Yes

Definitely do the guided tour eith Salmonberry Tours! This is the only way to get you inside several of the buildings, which was super cool! The valley is beautiful and the buildings are very interesting. We recommend they put more story boards up to identify ALL the structures, even those that have fallen down. Likewise along the foot path that goes up around the too of the mill it would have been really nice to have story boards up there to show what it looked like when standing and the workshop buildings along rhe wooden boardwalk accessible area too. They just need to do a better job at the visitor education experience. Overall the site is fabulous and we recommend it!

An absolutely gorgeous drive up and just as splendid of scenery and views once there. Well worth the minimal parking fee.

Snow still present on the trails at the end of June.

What a amazing place to see a place that produced a lot of gold back in the old days and to experience the way they lived and the history these buildings hold and the old tools no need to buy tickets just 5 dollars

An amazing area with multiple trails and areas to see. We did the Gold Cord lake hike. Still some snow around the sides, but the weather was amazing. Crystal clear cold water lake and beautiful scenery. Dogs are allowed, however the Marmots will torment them lol.

We just wandered around without signing up for the tour, and it worked out well for us. It allows you to read up on the history of the site and gives some background on what early gold miners and their families went through. You can walk through most of the building without the tour and explore at your own pace. The tour will give you access to. Few more buildings, as well as an expert guide to answer questions.

Beautiful views. But this whole concept of checking out falling apart buildings sounds like such an Alaskan thing. Like it's broken but let's just leave it there and people will come check it out as a touristy thing to do. Some of the rubble is sketchy looking and not safe. But it somehow is still a cool spot and worth checking out at least once
